Sixteen (16) fire emergency cadet responders enacted the periodical fire-fighting drill with the Nasipit Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) as the technical evaluators on the 12th of February. Upon the drill’s start, emergency alarms were sounded all over the academic building directing everyone to the muster station fronting the dormitel which was immediately followed by headcounts as a primary procedure on any kind of drill.
Fire emergency response team was divided into four groups with specific tasks: four cadets were stationed as a fire attack team; another four for the fire support team; five for the search and rescue and three for the medical team.
As the firefighting happened separately utilizing extinguishers and fire-fighting hose, different parties were on standby – Nasipit Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) headed by FO3 Geronimo H. De Guzman and FO1 Cirrus Jay J. Gumapak, medical personnel and SMET faculty and staff. Upon finish, an evaluation by the Nasipit BFP held consolidating observations from the parties involved.
Fire drill is important because it will train you and prepare you for real things to come,” FO1 Gumapak remarked.
Fire emergency team was rated nine out of ten as per BFP’s evaluation.
