Concurrent with the celebration of love month, Marine Propeller Society (MAPROS) club held a symposium themed, “Love: Integrity and Commitment” and a career guidance counseling on the 13th of February.
The symposium put emphasis on love awareness and professional ethics which was graced by two keynote speakers – 3/E Arnel Bahian and Mr. Tweftuesjun Rivera.
To share his experience and thoughts, 3/E Arnel M. Bahian first presided with his specific topics – working definition of love, how to handle a good relationship and how to avoid temptations as seafarer by profession.
“You as millennials, do not rush things you have a wonderful journey that awaits you,” 3/E Bahian stressed.
Second on the podium was Mr. Tweftuesjun Rivera presenting inputs in career guidance pinpointing five ideal professional attributes namely: honesty, integrity, accountability, respectfulness and obedience to the law which also serve as life-long assets for any job descriptions.
Mr. Rivera assured, “Once you go onboard, these five dominant professional attributes will truly help you.’’
Just like any typical SMET cadet-centered activities, the love month symposium ended with an inquiry-based interaction between presiders and all attendees.
