Our Story
St. John Fisher University has taken a strategic and data-driven approach to the use of Apple technology on campus from the very beginning of our journey. Our investigation into the potential use of Apple technology on our campus began in the 2018/2019 academic year with a series of presentations from Apple representatives and campus-wide discussions on the possibilities for a mobile technology ecosystem in higher education broadly and on our campus specifically. These conversations led to enough interest in the idea to forge a path for a series of pilots in the 2019/2020 academic year. The success of pilot experiences from both faculty and student perspectives, paired with the global pandemic in early 2020, led the College to move forward with a faculty deployment of Apple technology in the following academic year and then led to a full deployment to all undergraduate students in the fall of 2021. Explore each step in our story below, as well as our plans for the coming years.
