Our Catholic Identity
St. Joseph’s Convent, St. Joseph is a Catholic secondary school and the source of our life, inspiration, power, strength and hope is God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit, whose love has called us into being and draws us into deep relationship with Him and with one another. We believe that education is a journey towards truth, freedom and right relationships.
Integral to our philosophy is the belief in the sanctity of human life and the inherent dignity of all persons. This encourages us, therefore, to value each other, to treat one another with reverence and respect, and to build a strong, caring community. We envisage education as being of the whole person for the whole of life and that through a vibrant learning process, ideas will grow and mature and creativity will be released.
We envisage education as helping to nurture citizens and future leaders to become agents of real transformation in the world.
It is through daily prayer, school liturgies, the sacraments, the integration of morals and values in academic studies, inter-personal relationships, extra-curricular involvement, cultural celebrations, social outreach and service and care for our natural environment that the school expresses its identity and reflects Jesus’ mission and message of love.
