Event Information
The purpose of the Community for Environmental Literacy Summit (CELS) is to bring together the SJCOE environmental literacy networks (YEL, TEL, CPEL and GEL), parents, children and community members to learn, share and connect with nature in order to improve environmental literacy throughout San Joaquin County and Region 6.

Activities include:
Birding
Exploring native species
Hiking and spending time in nature
Collaborating around sustainability work in our region
Engaging with educational leaders and community partners and
Learning more about the environmental literacy networks
And more!
Meeting place: picnic tables at Knights Ferry Recreation Area (in the main parking lot next to the visitor center)
Items to bring: Picnic lunch, a refillable water bottle, a chair and wear comfortable walking shoes and layers.

1st Annual CEL Summit
Our first annual CEL Summit was held at Durham Ferry Outdoor education center. Attendees were able to engage in hiking, art, workshops and networking with community partners.
