I've been in education for 37 years. Being part of a young person's life and helping them become the best they can be is truly a privilege. I have achieved considerable success in my career and have been recognized with numerous honors, as listed below.
Still, the highest accolade I value is that when I retired from public school teaching, I had over 20 former students who now work with me in education. Most of them are from the same school where I retired, including the new Director of Technology. To me, there is no higher honor! 🥲
In this new chapter of my career, I have been allowed the opportunity to return to my true passion for math. Math is the best class of all, and I fully intend to convince every student I see of this fact.
To that point, even our Church Cardinals agree with me as Pope Leo is not only the first American pope and from Chicago, but he also started as a math teacher. Math is the chosen class 😀😉
I love to travel, any kind of sports (especially NCAA M/W BB tournaments), protecting our environment, and working with others in our communities. I'm a shoe guy with dozens and dozens (and dozens again) of pairs. Plus, music (mostly from the 80s) is something I will always talk about. 🎸🎙️
I am also involved with the Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois as one of their Casual Recruiters, I'm a volunteer for Luries Children's Hospital in Chicago, both at the downtown Chicago location and at various satellite sites, and during the summer, I drive a 16' box truck to deliver meals to different student summer camps for the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
I am very excited to be here!!
