2026/2027

September 15th

To me, the highest honor as a teacher is being invited by these young people to their next level. I have had students attend many different high schools in my career, but currently, I have students at Resurrection, Maine East, Niles West, Niles North, and my seniors at St. Ed's in Elgin. Being invited to these events means more than I can write here.

September 1st

Our back-to-school bash was a big hit. The Student Council raised over $330 at our first event of the school year.

More events are coming, including our Oktoberfest table from October 1st-4th.

September 1st

I finally got my first soccer game for the season after a cancellation and rainout (of course, the guilt given after missing the first one before school began 😆)

Teams looked great. It will be a fun year. ⚽

August 30th

Mrs. Fitzgerald was featured on the cover of the 8/30/26 Chicago Tribune. The story dealt with her connection to the Chicago Cubs, but more directly their season ticket group. See some of the pictures below.

August 24th

Ms. B competes in the 2026 Supertri Chicago

Ms. B competed in the 43rd annual Supertri Chicago. This triathlon includes swimming, biking, and finishing with a sprint (29K in total). She finished in 2:03 (HR/MM). Mrs. B and I came downtown to cheer her on. 📣

Luckily, we found her getting ready to enter Lake Michigan (the green cap helped). After that, we lost her and caught up once she finished. She is such an awesome lady and a real treasure here at SJB. Enjoy the pictures of the event below. 🏅

August 1st

Our fundraiser to benefit Lurie Children's Hospital was an overwhelming success. I received this letter in June. In fact, the total raised was actually $1,555.00, as an online donation was made that was not included in the letter's total.

I am so grateful and impressed with the effort, especially after the visit was cancelled. Thank you so much to all who helped make this such an incredible TRIUMPH!!. ♥️💰☺️

Room 31 is ready. The room has been cleaned, desks added, old unneeded furniture removed, and a few new cool pieces of furniture added (I'll wait to see if you can find them).

Plus, all times tables options have been re-printed and are waiting for students to use, and the record board has also been reset, with a new category that now totals 6 (Thanks, Molly). 😁 😃

We are ready for August 25th. 🗓️
