Classes & Faculties

We have Beginner A and B, Intermediate and Advance classes, and the ages of students are from 6 years old to adults. Our class sizes are small (5~11 students), which allows teachers to customize their classes depending on their students' needs.

Beginning-A : Hiragana and learning basic sentences Instructor: Masayo Terabe

This class is for students who are able to read and write in English but who don't have a very little or no knowledge of Japanese.  I hope we have fun with writing, typing, and speaking Japanese and develop your interest in Japanese language and culture. 

Beginning-B : Learning to apply and expand the basic sentence structures, and Katakana                    Instructor: Miho Oishi

The Beginning-B course is for students who completed the beginner-A course or equivalent. Students are expected to know all hiragana.  They practice the application of basic sentences by expanding verb conjugations, adverbs, and adjectives. They will study how to carry a conversation by role plays and games. 

Intermediate:   Learn different expressions in Japanese, introduction to Kanji     Instructor: Kazuko Agueros

This class is for students who are able to read and write Hiragana and Katakana proficiently and have already studied basic Japanese words and expressions. In the class, students will increase their vocabulary and learn more expressions and culture to develop their reading, writing and conversation skills. Basic Kanji will also be introduced.

Advance: Short sentence construction, reading and writing kanji　                Instructor: Kumi Hasegawa

This Advance class is for students who learn daily conversation. we will learn about words that are often used in conversation, the structure of a short sentence, and reading and listening to sentences. This class will also study basic Kanji and pick up Japanese culture that students are interested in, such as Japanese anime and pop culture.
