Mini Midi 2008

Mini Midi is a part of Midi Music Festival, which is the earliest and largest outdoor music festival in China. The Mini Midi, first occurring in 2005, as the experimental stage of Midi Music Festival

Mini Midi, held together with Midi Festival annually, is sponsored by Beijing Midi Productions and undertook by Sub Jam.

The Mini Midi Festival is a non-profit event, presenting a wide variety of adventurous modern music including: experimental, avant-grade, improvised, electronic, noise, and sonic art. The Festival is one of the only two music festivals of its kind (the other is 2pi Festival in Hangzhou) and is also a extension of ‘Waterland Kwanyin’, which is a weekly free event since 2005. The team of the Festival is fundamentally made up of volunteers.

The 1st Mini Midi was a three-day event featuring 22 acts, the 2nd Mini Midi was a four-day event presenting 23 acts, and the 3rd Mini Midi was a three-day event bringing 27 acts, including Staalplaat Sound-system, Jan Jelinek, DDV, FM3, Xiao He, Wang Fan, Dajuin Yao, Lin Chiwei, Sulumi, Li Jianhong and more from Beijing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Datong, Tsingdao, Taipei, Germany, Canada, Japan, Korea, America, Holland and Malaysia.

The first to the third Mini Midi was hold in Beijing Haidian Park.

中國惟一的戶外實驗音樂節，水陸觀音的延伸，迷笛的實驗舞臺，地下搖滾的來世，噪音的親人，獨立機構的聚會。免費，好玩。Mini Midi是中國最早和最大的戶外音樂節——迷笛音樂節的一部分。2005年，作為迷笛音樂節實驗舞臺，第一次出現，以后每年和迷笛音樂節同時舉辦。由北京迷笛演出有限公司主辦，撒把芥末工作室承辦。

Mini Midi是一個非贏利的，面向實驗音樂、前衛音樂、即興音樂、電子樂、噪音和聲音藝術的活動，它是中國僅有的兩個同類音樂節之一（另一個是杭州的二皮音樂節）。它也是每周一次的“水陸觀音”免費活動的延續，全部工作人員均為志愿者。

第一屆Mini Midi進行了3天，有22個組合表演；第二屆Mini Midi進行了4天，有23個組合表演；第三屆Mini Midi進行了3天，有27個組合表演。他們中包括Staalplaat Soundsystem、Jan Jelinek、DDV、FM3、小河、王凡、姚大鈞、林其蔚、Sulumi、李劍鴻等來自北京、杭州、廣州、大同、青島、臺北和德國、加拿大、日本、韓國、美國、荷蘭、馬來西亞的藝人。第一至第三屆Mini Midi在北京海淀公園舉辦。

2008年，第4屆Mini Midi將于5月1至3日，在汽車電影院內，兩個好朋友酒吧門前的草地及室內舉辦。免費入場。兩個好朋友酒吧是實驗音樂活動“水陸觀音”的舉辦場地。

活動將分為講座/座談、戶外演出和電子音樂party。因此它不僅是音樂家和觀眾的聚會，也是獨立音樂推廣者、樂評人、廠牌經營者、活動策劃人的聚會，它是一個音樂生態的聚會。演出并不是最重要的，對Mini Midi來說，培育并分享場景才是最重要的。

來自倫敦的Atlantic Waves音樂節、來自柏林的Staubgold廠牌，將分別主持一個講座/座談，介紹這兩個世界馳名的實驗/獨立生命體。這也是本地策劃人、樂評人、獨立機構、獨立廠牌的一次盛大聚會。

戶外演出的藝人比往年減少，但依然延續了散漫的青草氣息和開放的噪音精神。來自瑞士的Andy Guhl是第一個確認的外國藝人，他是國際地下/噪音場景的英雄和前輩，著名的Voice Crack的成員。臺灣第一代噪音樂隊，傳奇的搗亂分子“零與聲”，在離開舞臺10多年后，第一次相聚，在Mini Midi亮相。另一位來自臺北的藝術家，“美聲噪音”王福瑞的身份是：臺灣90年代噪音雜志《NOISE》主編、“精·神·經”和“在地實驗”成員、臺北藝術大學藝術與科技中心電腦音樂實驗室主持人，目前已經確定的其他藝人包括李劍鴻（杭州）、積木（杭州）、洪啟樂（福州）、王凡（北京）、李增輝（北京）、小河（北京）、FM3（北京）、武權（北京）、顏峻（北京）、張安定懷丁陛士德（北京）、Justin Pedro（紐約/北京）、TronOrchestra+SAM2+SomeMoreSams+（北京/東京）、八股歌（北京）、10（東京/首爾）、李鐵橋（北京/奧斯陸）、麻沸散（北京）、Bruce Gremo（紐約/北京）……

兩個晚上的室內演出，是山水唱片和Staubgold兩個廠牌的專場，電子樂、DJ和party。

中國獨立音樂有聲資料館將在Mini Midi開設第一次移動展覽。

白糖罐和其他獨立機構將現場擺攤推廣獨立出品。

Mini Midi 2008是噪音的花季，也是中國獨立場景的綻放。撒把芥末、觀音唱片、白糖罐、中國當代音樂資料館、烏鴉音樂、威的生活便簽、新茶網、兩個好朋友、D22、愚公移山、Borderline……獨立機構、個人、志愿者聯合起來做一件事，甚至各做各的事，最后形成一個開放的、免費的節日。
