Postdoctoral Researchers in Automated Driving and Human Factors
The Human–Technology Interaction (HTI) Lab in the Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at Zhejiang University is seeking multiple postdoctoral researchers to work with Dr. Yiqi Zhang.
Located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang University is a leading research university in China with a strong interdisciplinary environment. The HTI Lab studies human cognition, performance, and behavior in interactions with intelligent systems by combining human-subject experiments, simulation, multimodal sensing, data-driven methods, and computational modeling.
Position Description
The successful candidates will investigate how humans interact with automated vehicles, with a focus on cognitive and affective processes such as trust in automation, situation awareness, risk perception, and emotion regulation. Research may also examine human–machine interface design and behavioral adaptation in mixed-autonomy traffic, as well as the computational modeling of human behavior and performance.
Responsibilities
Conduct independent and collaborative human-factors research under the mentorship of Dr. Yiqi Zhang.
Apply multiple research methods, including designing and conducting experiments, developing study materials, collecting behavioral data using driving simulators, and measuring physiological responses.
Analyze driving-simulator, behavioral, and physiological data from human-subject studies.
Develop and validate computational models of human behavior.
Collaborate on peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers.
Contribute to grant proposals and progress reports.
Qualifications
A PhD in human factors, cognitive psychology, computer science, artificial intelligence, civil engineering, or a related field, with a research focus relevant to human factors.
Experience in driving-related research is preferred.
Proficiency in quantitative data analysis.
Relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals or conference proceedings.
Strong scientific writing and communication skills.
Prior experience with computational modeling, machine learning, large language models, driving simulators, eye tracking, or physiological data analysis is also desirable.
