Yiqi Zhang

Ruby Yeeun Kim
Ruby is a Ph.D. student in Industrial Engineering at Penn State University majoring in Human Factors. Her research interests include human-technology interaction, human-centered design, and trust in automation. She aims to provide a better user experience and trust in human-technology interaction by conducting human factors research in both designs and systems. She received her master’s degree in the School of Information at the University of Michigan in 2022.
Book Chen
Book Chen is a Ph.D. student in Industrial Engineering at Pennsylvania State University specializing in Human Factors. His research focuses on human–automated vehicle interaction, mixed-autonomy traffic systems, driver behavior, and human-centered design for automated driving systems. His current work investigates how automated vehicle driving styles and human driving characteristics influence driver decision-making, trust, and behavioral adaptation in mixed traffic environments, with the goal of improving the safety and effectiveness of future human–automation collaboration.
Winnie Fang
Winnie Fang is a Ph.D. student in Industrial Engineering at Pennsylvania State University specializing in Human Factors. Her research focuses on human–robotaxi interaction, driver trust in automation, and human-centered design for automated driving systems. Her current work investigates how robotaxi driving styles and passenger characteristics influence trust, perceived safety, and acceptance of autonomous vehicles, with the goal of developing human-centered mobility systems that foster safe, trustworthy, and positive user experiences.

Dr. Xiaomei Tan (Ph.D. 2023)
Xiaomei received her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 2023, specializing in Human Factors. Her research focused on driver situation awareness, takeover behavior, human–automation interaction, and multi-stage takeover request design for automated driving systems. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Sichuan University–Pittsburgh Institute.
Dr. Zheng Ma (Ph.D. 2023)
Zheng received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 2023, specializing in Human Factors. He earned his B.S. in Applied Psychology from Zhejiang University in 2018. His doctoral research focused on human–automated vehicle interaction, mixed-autonomy traffic systems, driver decision-making, trust in automation, and behavioral adaptation. He is currently a Research Scientist at Meta.
