Bicycle Racks for your car that fit into your Receiver Hitch.
What is a Receiver Hitch.
In the United States there are two standard Receiver Hitch sizes.
1 1/4" and 2". The 2" is normally only on full sized vehicles like Pickup trucks and SUVs. The 1 1/4 size is normally on passenger vehicles and front wheel drive vehicles.
The measurement is the inside diameter of the square.
Here are some pictures of a 2" Receiver hitch. The Bike rack made for this will plug right into this hole and then you can put the pin that comes with the rack into it or you can purchase a lock which will lock the bike rack into the vehicle reciever.
Below are some pictures of 1 1/4 reciever hitch on a passenger car. As you can see the inside measurement of the hole is 1 1/4".
Here is an Allen 530rr 3 bike Reciever Hitch Rack installed. The 540rr, 550rr, 430rr, 44orr all install the same way.
The Allen 550rr, 540rr 530rr, 440rr, 430rr receiver racks all fold away from the back of the vehicle to allow access through your tailgate or rear door. You cannot do this with the bicycles on the rack.
