Employment

Presently, I am looking for highly motivated students who are interested in internship, masters, and doctoral thesis to study Bioinformatics, Cheminformatics, and Computer-Aided Drug Design in a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment.

Senior Research Associate in Computational Medicinal Chemistry

A computational medicinal chemistry Senior Research Associate positions is available immediately in the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research, in the research group of Dr. Zaheer-ul-Haq Qasmi.

The research project consists of computational modeling of Lipoxygenase for rational development of novel selective ligands. The methods used will include pharmacophore modeling, protein modeling, docking, virtual screening and molecular dynamics.

Candidates should have a PhD with specialization in medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, biology, biophysics or related field. They should have prior experience in ligand-based and structure-based drug design and practical knowledge of and experience using current simulation techniques. They should also have excellent scripting skills; supercomputing experience; proficiency with UNIX/Linux operating system. Candidates must have good communication skills.

The position is available immediately. The appointment will be for one year, with extension possible upon mutual agreement and continued funding.
