ABOUT THE COURSE:

MASNAVI is the collection of Rumi's reflections on human nature and its connection to the divine, told in the form of allegorical stories.

Through guided discussion, we will explore in depth the possible meanings and messages within the Masnavi tale of the lion and the rabbit.

The discussion will be in English; no knowledge of Persian is necessary.

HAFEZ: Heart On Fire

ABOUT THE COURSE:

HAFEZ, the Persian poet and mystic, is revered both for his mastery of language and for his message of divine love, intoxication and ecstasy.

We will read and discuss a selection of Hafez’s work, exploring the possible meanings & messages in the symbolic imagery.

Each week a new poem will be presented, in the original Persian and a translation in English.

The discussion will be in English; no knowledge of Persian is necessary.

* We will work on different poems than previous Hafez workshop.
