Yonkers Veterans Groups

After World War II, and the return home of thousands of soldiers, Yonkers went through an explosion of sorts with the formation of numerous new veteran groups. Of course, groups such as the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars already were established in Yonkers; however, their branches multiplied in the city. Specialty veterans groups also formed, such as the Catholic War Veterans and the Jewish War Veterans.
