2. ELIGIBILITY OF COMPETITORS
This event is open only to Sarawak Resident riders who must be a holder of competition licence issued by AAM.
2.1 All competitors MUST use a “full scale” Hard Plastic back protector.
2.2 All competitors must purchase highest Insurance offered by AAM.
3. ELIGIBILITY OF MOTORCYCLE & CATEGORIES:
3.1 CATEGORY A: (SENIOR)
CATEGORY B: (JUNIOR)
Underbone - 90cc up to 115cc (4-stroke horizontal layout engine only).
3.2 Motorcycle must be manufactured and assembled in Malaysia.
3.3 Maximum width of rims must be as follows:
3.4 Cast alloy wheel are allowed with minimum gross weight for:
(Gross weight includes the disc brake and brake hub for rear tyre with drum brakes, tyre, inner tube (if any), rim and hub excluding the sprocket and sprocket hub)
4. The following items MUST NOT BE altered.
4.1 Type of engine, number of cylinder, piston stroke and the number of valve.
4.2 The material and casting of cylinder, cylinder head, crankcase and gear box.
4.3 The materials of the internal parts of the engines unless mentioned.
4.4 The materials, casting and shape of crankcase cover.
4.5 The materials, dimensions and shapes of crankshaft assembly.
4.6 Fuel tank (excluding inlet opening and fuel cork).
4.7 Primary gear ratio and number of gears. Maximum permitted number of gears is 4 only.
4.8 Frame body, rear swing arm and rear suspension system
4.9 Frame body must remain as originally produced by the manufacturer as homologated.
4.10 Front fork and under bracket complete.
4.11 No polishing is allowed on crankshaft.
5. The following items MAY BE ALTERED, but must conform to the general specification.
(This is for clarification only. Other parts not listed in Art. 2.4 and 2.5 can be altered or replaced. Change of specification means modification, changes or removal of the parts.)
5.1 Change of compression ratio is allowed.
5.2 Setting of carburetor, attachment or size change of air funnel.
5.3 Inlet opening of fuel tank for fuel charge may be modified but cannot be relocated.
5.4 Change of fuel pipe and fuel cork.
5.5 Change of exhausts pipe and muffler, but must have silencer. Length must not exceed the rear wheel.
5.6 Material of clutch discs and specifications of spring. Hand clutch is allowed.
5.7 Gear ratios are free.
5.8 Starting device and parts relative to this device may be removed.
5.9 Modification or removal of air cleaner box, wire harness and control wires.
5.10 Removal of speedometer (including meter gearbox and cable.)
5.11 Removal of drive chain case and cover. Change of drive chain is allowed.
5.12 Change of final gear ratio is allowed.
5.13 Attachment of bead stopper and balance weight to tyre.
5.14 Modification and change of rear brake part mechanism is allowed.
5.15 Frame body may be strengthened.
5.16 Modification and change to brackets and pedals including footrest, but footrest must maintain a minimum 15mm in diameter without any sharp edges. Footrest must not be foldable type.
5.17 Front suspension unit must remain as originally produced by the manufacturer. However, the following internal parts of the fork can be modified. For example: Shims, hydraulic piston, oil passages, springs and spacers. However, brackets for re-enforcement can be mounted on the front fork outer tube but not to act as a steering limiter.
5.18 Attachment of stabilizer to strengthen or reinforcing rear swing arm is allowed. Limitation of extra material must not be bigger than the original swing arm.

5.19 Removal of dust seals.
5.20 Rear suspension is free. The rear linkage must remain as originally produced by the manufacturer, however the position of the top linkage may be shifted to the front with a maximum limit of 25mm(center to center) from the original point and must be securely welded. There should be only one mounting point at any time. Adjustable mounting points are not allowed. The shock must be directly mounted to the linkage.
5.21 Handle bars (minimum length of 450mm), clutch and front brake lever may be changed by an aftermarket copy. The edge of the levers should be round with a minimum diameter of16mm and a minimum thickness of 14mm. The length of the brake and clutch lever should not be more than 200mm measuring from center of pivot point. Clutch springs may be changed.Handle bar can be interchangeable but must remain as hollow rod type. “Clamp On” type handle bar is allowed but must be a single piece bar and confirmed to the dimension stated above.
5.22 Steering damper may be fitted. They must not act in any way as a steering lock limiting device.
5.23 Materials of streamlining and material of seat cowling. (However, expensive materials such as carbon fiber and Kevlar are not allowed).
5.24 Removal of rear mudguard.
5.25 All lubricants are free.
5.26 Adjusting and polishing are allowed, and is defined as “To select each part or assembly complete with-in the limit of single or otal tolerance” (i.e. that of valve clearance, ignition timing etc.)
5.27 Cutting unnecessary stays is allowed (including part of seat-rail)
5.28 Flywheel and ignition is free. (The definition of “Flywheel” is the replacement part of Auto Transmission mechanism)
5.29 Front and Rear disc brake may be added. The front fork must be standard but may be modified to incorporate the disc. Change of front forks is permitted only for same makes of underbone for the purpose of incorporating the front disc. Wheelbase must maintain the same as homologated motorcycle if the above mention is incorporated. Change of master pump (front brake) is allowed.
5.30 Camshaft, timing chain, connecting rod and cam sprockets may be modified.
5.31 Leg shield may be shaved at the edges from the standard size only for cornering purposes. Highest shaved area allowed must be below the footrest height.
5.32 Cylinder head must remain original as homologated motorcycle visually but can be modified.
5.33 Maximum permitted valve size is 29mm.
5.34 Front mudguard may be cut but not be less than 6 inches from the front cowling.
5.35 Carbon fiber silencer sleeves are permitted.
5.36 Piston is free and are allowed to be coated with other materials such as Silicone, Molybdenum, Ceramic, Thermal barrier and etc. Piston must have 3 grooves (2 compression rings and 1 oil scrapper ring) with a measurement of 1mm depth.
5.37 Addition of fins are allowed in the fuel tank to counter the throwing of fuel weight.
5.38 Carburetor positioning must be opposite direction from the Ignition side (Spark Plug).
5.39 Battery must be securely mounted under the seat and must not be exposed.
6. WEIGHT
The minimum half dry weight without fuel for the rider’s with full gears and bike is 135kg.

If the combined weight is less than 135kgs, when the maximum motorcycle weight is already 95kgs or more, there will not be any additional weight penalty. All ballast added to the bike must be securely fitted. Sprocket will not be allowed to be used as weight ballast unless permanently welded on the bike.
* Half dry weight means: Motorcycle ready to race without fuel. In case of separate lubricant oil, it’s regarded as fuel.
7. FUEL
Fuel used is free. No additive or whatsoever is allowed. e.g. octane booster, lubricants, etc.
8. The following items MUST BE ALTERED if the homologated motorcycle does not comply.
8.1 Motorcycles must be equipped with a functional ignition kill switch(With-in reach of hands while handgrips). The ignition kill switch MUST be red in color. – “Two terminal type” Preferably fitted on the left hand side of the handle bar.
8.2 Removal of safety equipment i.e. stands, rear view mirror, auxiliary steps and turn signals.
8.3 All drain plugs must be wired. All parts of external oil pressure line must be safety wired.
8.4 Maximum size of carburetor is 24mm. The measurement of the 24mm is from the point after the throttle valve of the intake mixture air passage. The intake mixture air passage MUST be round (Oval shaped NOT allowed)
8.5 All breather hose must have a catch tank located in as easily accessible position and which must be emptied before the start of each race. Catch tank must measure at least 250cc.
9. The following WILL BE PROHIBITED in any case.
9.1 Use of special materials such as titanium alloy, reinforced carbon fiber, etc. when modifying or changing parts unless specified in the Supplementary Regulations.
9.2 Light alloy in the construction of front and rear wheel spindle (shaft).
9.3 Tires are free. Slick, hand cut or rain tyres are not allowed. Competing motorcycle should have at least 60%(from new) or 2.5mm depth of tread to start (scrutineering purpose only). The measurement will be carried out on the worse worn treaded area of the tire.
9.4 Each participant is allowed to declare 1 set of tyres for the weekend, from qualifying practice onwards to the final. The tyres must be DOT approved “DOT US/EU/Japan”. If the declared tyre/s is damaged in an event of accident, a similar tyre type must be submitted to the chief scrutineer for approval again.
9.5 Any type of oil cooler.
10. NOISE CONTROL
Exhaust must have functional silencer. The noise limit will be 125db/A at 6,000 rpm.
11. CHANGE OF PART
Exchange of single parts or an assembly of motorcycle with those of the same model bearing the same type of frame number and engine number is allowed.
12. GRID POSITION
When a race is held in heats, grid position for the heats will be by qualifying practice. It will then run a heat, the number of riders qualified for the finals will be announce at the rider’s briefing Only riders who completed 75% of the race distance and received chequered flag will qualify for the final race. The grid position for the final race will be determined by finishing time of order for each race on the previous qualifying heat.
13. FREE AND QUALIFYING
13.1 Each class will be given 15 minutes free practice and 15 minutes of qualifying practice and riders will commence all practice from the paddock by means of waving the green flag at the paddock exit.
13.2 The end of free and qualifying session will be indicated by waving the chequered flag. A rider’s qualifying session will continue to be recorded until he passes the finish line the allotted time has elapsed.
13.3 If practice is interrupted during free and qualifying session due to an accident or any other reason, then a red flag will be displayed at the start and all marshals’ posts along the track. All riders must return slowly to the paddock. If it is impossible to re-start the free and qualifying practice due to time constraint, it will not be restarted. The session is considered ended and no extra time will be given for the group.
13.4 All free practice will be timed.
13.5 Please note that if the timed practice could not be held due to climatic reason or some other reason e.g. rain or force majeure, then the grid position for the first race will be determined by the time taken during the free practice. Otherwise if both sessions could not be held, drawing lots will determine grid position for the heats.
14. METHOD OF START
14.1 Clutch start with engines running from grid positions by the dropping of the starter’s flag (National/State/Green) if flag are used after the display of the:
(a) 3 minute board
(b) 1 minute board (All to clear the grid except for race official)
(c) 30 second board
14.2 If light is used after the display of the minute board, the riders may start the warm up lap, line by line, once the marshal responsible for the line has lowered his red flag. All riders will make one warm up lap, at unrestricted speed. On returning to the grid, the riders must take up their position with the front wheel of their motorcycle up to the line defining the grid position and keep their engine running. An official will stand at the front of the grid holding a red flag. The starter will then instruct the official at the front of the grid displaying the red flag, to walk to the side of the track. A red light will be displayed for 2 to 5 seconds. For example, the red light will go off to start the race.
14.3 Jump Start: A competitor will be considered to have jump start if the motorcycle moves forward when the red lights are on. In the above case, a competitor who is found to have jump start will be informed by displaying a yellow board with the rider’s numbers (black color) shown at the finish line as soon as the jump start has been confirmed. Ignorance to the notice of the display board will not give the competitors the right to claim that they are unaware of the decision.
14.4 Penalty for a jump start will be 30 seconds, which will be added to the total elapsed time.
15. RESULTS
Results will be posted at the Paddock Notice Board and at the Race Control at the conclusion of each race. The announcement of the results will be made over the public address system. The published results will stand official, half an hour after posting if there has not been any official protest against the result, subject to the final Jury/Steward meeting.
16. PROTESTS
Protest time elapses forty five minutes (45 minutes) after the posting of the provisional results. Any protest must be made in accordance with Article 12 of the MAM NCRs. and shall be addressed to the Clerk of the Course for immediate transmission to the MAM Steward.
Protest fee - RM250.00 only.
17. APPEAL
Appeal must be made in accordance with Article 13 of the MAM NCRs and shall address to the Clerk of the Course for immediate transmission to the MAM Steward.
Appeal fee - RM2,500.00 only
Note: All payment for the above must be made in cash in Ringgit Malaysia when submitting the protest/appeal letter.
18. SIGNING-IN AND SCRUTINEERING
Signing-In & Scrutineering will be held at the paddock from 08:00 –09:30 on every first day of each round. A briefing for riders will be held after the closing of registration and scrutineering on the same day at the Race Control area at 10:00. It is compulsory for all riders to be present during briefing.
19. OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE
In the interest of safety, any outside assistance on the track is forbidden, except by Race Officials. The penalty for violation of this regulation is exclusion from the race/meeting.
20. INSURANCE
Public Liability insurance will be provided by the organizer.
21. FINISH OF RACE AND RACE RESULT
The chequered flag will be dropped as the winner crosses the finish line and will be held stationary by an official standing at the finish line at track level. The chequered flag will continue to be displayed to the subsequent riders until the last competitor completes the lap he is on. To be classified as a finisher in the race and to be included in the results, a rider and vehicle must:
21.1 Complete 75% of the race distance.
21.2 Cross the finish line within two minutes of the race winner (applicable to race meeting held in the street). The rider must be in contact with his machine.
21.3 Cross the finish line within three minutes of the race winner (applicable to race meeting held in the circuit). The rider must be in contact with his machine.
22. STOPPING THE RACE
Should it be deemed necessary to stop the race due to climatic conditions or some other reasons, red flag will be displayed at the start/finish line and followed by all flag marshal’s posts to indicate the race has been stopped. All riders should stop racing immediately and continue slowly to the start/finish line, being prepared to stop at any point as requested by a Race Official.
The result of a stopped race is as follows:
(a) Should two-third of the original race distance rounded down to the nearest whole number of laps completed by the leader of the race and by all other riders, then the race will be deemed to have completed and full championship points will be awarded.
(b) Should the race be completed for 2 laps and below it shall be restart and the 1st race will be null and void. A complete new race distance will be run minus one lap. All riders may re-start. If it is found impossible to re-start the race, it will be declared cancelled and the race then will not count for the championship.
(c) Should the riders complete 3 laps, but less than two-third of the original race distance, the remaining number of laps will be rounded down to the nearest(two-thirds of the original race distance), then the race will re-start minus one lap and times of the two races added together to arrive at the final results. Only riders who are classified as a finisher in the first race may re-start. The grid position will be based on the finishing order of the first race. If the race cannot be restarted due to force majeure, then the results will count and half points will be awarded in the Championship.
NOTE: Only two team members per bike allowed to repair if necessary at starting grid.

23. FLAGS USED TO PROVIDE INFORMATION
Green Flag:
The track is clear. The flag must be shown motionless at each flag post for the first lap of each practice and warm up, for the sighting lap and for warm up lap. The flag must be shown motionless at the flag marshal post immediately after the incident that necessitated the use of one or more yellow flags.
Yellow and Red Stripped Flag:
Oil, water or another substance is affecting adhesion on this section of the track. The flag must be shown motionless at the flag marshal post.
Blue Flag:
Shown waved at the marshal post, overtaking signal, the blue flag indicates to a rider that he is about to be overtaken by one or more faster motorcycles. During the practice sessions, the rider concerned must keep his line and slow down gradually to allow the faster rider pass him. During the race, the rider concerned is about to be lapped. He must allow the following rider(s) to pass him at the earliest opportunity. Any infringement of this rule will be penalized with one of the following penalties: Fine, disqualification or withdrawal of the Championship points.
Chequered Black/White Flag
This flag will be waved at the finish line on track level to indicate the finish of race or practice
Chequered Black/White Flag and Blue Flag
The chequered black/white flag will be waved together with the blue flag presented motionless at the finish line on track level when a rider(s) precedes closely the leader during the final lap before the finish line
Flags Which Convey Information and Instruction
Yellow Flag
Shown waved at each row of the starting grid, this flag indicates the start of the race is delayed.
Shown waved at the flag marshal post. This flag indicates that there is a danger ahead. The riders must slow down and prepared to stop. Overtaking is forbidden up until the point where the green flag is shown.
Any infringement of this rule during practice session will results in cancellation of the time of the lap during which the infraction occurred.
During the final inspection lap, the flag must be waved at the exact place where the flag marshal will be positioned during the practice, the warm ups and races.
National / State/ Green Flag or Traffic Light:
Race starting.
Red Flag or Red Light:
When the race or practice is being interrupted, the red flag will be waved at each marshal post and the red lights (if available) around the track will be switched on. Rider must return slowly to the Start /Finish line. When the pit exit is closed, this flag will be showed motionless at the pit lane exit and light (if available) will be switched on. Riders are not allowed to exit the pit-lane. Any infringement of this rule will be penalized with one of the following penalties: Fine – disqualification – withdraws of championship points – suspension.
The red flag will be shown motionless at the starting grid at the end of sighting lap and at the end of the warm up lap.
Must be shown when a race or practice is interrupted & upon the order of the Clerk of Course. All riders must slow down, must not overtake and return slowly to the paddock.
The red flag may also be used to close the track.
Black Flag With White Number On Black Signaling Board:
Inform the rider shown to, that he must stop at his paddock on the next lap. Report to Clerk of the Course.
Flags used at the observation post.
Yellow Flag:
Signal of danger
o Shown “waved” – at the flag marshal post, this flag indicates that there is a danger ahead. Overtaking is forbidden up until the point that the green flag is shown. Slow down and be prepared to stop.
o Any rider caught overtaking at this point by the official, will be subject to a deduction of one lap for the race or fine or exclusion from the race.
o During the final inspection lap, this flag must be waved at the exact place where the flag marshal will be positioned during the practices, the warm ups and races.
Black Flag:
This Flag is designed to convey instructions to one rider only and is displayed motionless at the start/finish line together with the rider’s number. The rider must stop at the paddock at the end of current lap and cannot restart. Any infringement of this rule will be penalized with one of the following penalties: Fine - disqualification - withdrawal of the championship points – suspension.
Black Flag With Orange Disk (Æ 40 cm)
The black flag is used to convey instruction to one rider only and is displayed motionless at each marshal post together with the rider numbers. The flag informs the rider that his motorcycle has mechanical problem likely to endanger himself or others, and that he must immediately leave the track.
Any infringement of this rule will be penalized with one of the following penalties: Fine - disqualification - withdrawal of the championship points – suspension.
24. RESTARTING DURING A RACE/PRACTICE
Once the machine/motorcycle is on the circuit, whether in practice or during race, no outside assistance is permitted. An official of the meet may assist a rider to move a stalled machine/motorcycle out of the dangerous position.
25. RIDER/CREW CONDUCT
The onus of responsibility for the conduct of crew will at all times be with the competitor. Any misbehavior on the part of the crew will not be tolerated and the riders will be liable to exclusion from the event for any breach of these regulations or refusal to obey instructions from officials of the meet. No crews are permitted on the race track at any time without the express permission of the Clerk of the Course.
Once the rolling lap has commenced, all crew will return to the pits or paddock. Smoking in the pit or paddock is forbidden. The organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to any areas under its jurisdiction without assigning a reason. Failure to comply with such a request will render the rider liable to exclusion from the event.
NOTE: Smoking and Drinking of any alcoholic beverages or intoxication by any other means (e.g. Narcotics) is absolutely forbidden in the paddock, pit or its surrounding. Any rider’s, crew’s or his/her guest found guilty of such an offence will be fined.
No testing of race motorcycles is allowed within 10km radius of the race venue.
26. PITS
All repairs, adjustment to the machine during the races must be performed in the area designated at the paddock and must empty the paddock after the end day of each event not later than 7:00 pm for security reasons. It is the responsibility of each competitor to ensure that his pit crew knows all pit rules. Riders shall enter the paddock from designated entrance at a reduced speed. Any rider caught riding recklessly in the pits and paddock may be excluded from the event. Only those with pass are are allowed at the pit/paddock.
27. PASSES ALLOCATION
All riders/team crew members must respect and display the passes issued to them at all time within the pit/paddock and track area.
The following is the allocation of passes based on 1 rider per team, for
Rider = 1 – Access: Pit/Paddock/Track/Starting Grid
Pit crew = 2 per rider – Access: Pit/Paddock/Starting Grid
Manager = 1 – Access: Pit/Paddock/Starting Grid
Parking Pass = 2 parking pass per team
Additional Passes = Additional passes can be purchase at
RM20 per pass per event. Access: Pit/Paddock/Rider(s) must not at all times used their competition license as an accreditation pass for access to the event. The organiser/promoter have the right to refuse entry and impose fine should such an event occurs.
28. POSTPONEMENT
At the discretion of the organiser, the meeting or part thereof, may be postponed or cancelled.
Note: All licenses are to be handed in to the secretary of the meet immediately after signing-in for safekeeping.
The licences will be returned immediately after the conclusion of the event.
29. PRIZE GIVING
29.1 All podium prize winners must be present at the Official Prize Presentation after the conclusion of each race, failing which all trophies and cash awards shall be forfeited. Winners must also dress in proper attire.
29.2 All competitors taking the podium finish must wear the event cap supplied by the organiser or will be fined RM50. 00. Second time offender will be liable for exclusion of their next event / meeting.
30. RIGHTS OF THE ORGANISERS
30.1 The organiser reserves the right to change the dates and times of the race, postpone, abandon and cancel a meeting or part thereof.
30.2 Competitors, entrants or any organization will have no right to claim against the promoters or organisers for any expenses incurred or losses suffered through the exercising of these rights by the organisers.
30.3 All winners must also attend the official press conferences and media interviews organised by the organiser. Team/owners/riders must also make themselves available during media event when invited.
31. Pit/Paddock
31.1 The cleanliness and the security of their belonging in the paddock area is the responsibility of the team/rider to ensure that his/her pit crew knows the entire pit rule.
31.2 No team/rider vehicles are allowed into the paddock area at all times. All team must park their vehicle at the designated parking area after unloading their respective racing motorcycle.
31.3 Non competing motorcycles are not allowed in the pit/paddock.
32. LIABILITY
The team/competitor/crew in an official meeting exonerates the MAM, the promoter, the organiser and their officials, their employees and officers and agents, sponsors, State government & government of Malaysia, government agencies from any and all liability for any loss, damage, injury which he/she may incur in the course of an official meeting arising from any cause, reason, circumstances or otherwise whatsoever. The team/competitor undertake to identify and hold harmless exonerate the MAM, the promoter, organiser and their officials, their employees and officers and agents, sponsors, State government & government of Malaysia, government agencies from and against any and all liability to third parties for any loss, injury, damage sustained by a racing motorcycle taking part in an official meeting or by it accessories or other equipment during the meeting or practice, howsoever caused, either by fire,...
