Requirement for Standards of Accreditation Reporting of Work-Based Learning Experiences (Data Collection in SIS Gradebook) (HS)

As part of the forthcoming College, Career, and Civic Readiness Indicator (effective for high schools in the 2021-22 school year) included in the 2017 VDOE Standards of Accreditation, high schools must report work-based and service learning experiences occurring in courses in every content area. Instructional leads and SBTS have attended a training on these reporting requirements and the implementation of new recording procedures using SIS Gradebook.

This new recording feature will be available in high school gradebooks on March 25, 2019. It is strongly recommended that schools begin recording reportable work-based learning experiences in the third quarter assignment. An additional opportunity to report work-based learning experiences using SIS Gradebook will also be provided in the fourth quarter. The goal this school year is to record experiences that are already occurring as part of course content. For more details on recording reportable experiences, refer to the Work-Based Learning QRG (pdf).
