Mile High Murder

by Robert L. Hecker

Benjamin Roan, head of Roan Security, is in trouble - again. Cavorting in the California skies in a WWII P-51 fighter plane, the last thing on Ben's mind was murder. In truth he was having a hard time keeping his thoughts off his sexy flight instructor who turns out to be as deadly as she is beautiful when she catapults Ben into the thrilling world of International Air Shows. There, as an exhibition flyer - and a reluctant undercover operator for the DEA - Ben becomes embroiled in drug smuggling and international intrigue. Suddenly flying loses some of its thrill when he finds himself a target for mile high murder.

"Author Robert L. Hecker has done it again! He has written a masterful action-packed thriller that keeps the reader turning pages. In my opinion he ranks up there with Ken Follett, Nelson De Mille, and Robert Ludlum in telling a convincing story of intrigue with wonderful, well-drawn characters and details that keep the reader captivated."

A Cold Breed

by Casey O'Ryan

DJ has everything in order. She installs high end, hi-tech security systems using the latest and most sophisticated gadgetry. Her single-employee business is in constant high gear. In and out of her troublesome customers' homes and businesses, she sees a lot of their inner lives. Her clients often have as much to hide as they do to protect. When she goes out of her way to make an emergency installation for backcountry Travis Bitter, she finds a repulsive setting like none she could imagine. The man is a horror-show-quality creep, as are his two equally maniacal sons. They carelessly make their living off an assembly line of high-profit "breeding stock" and their adorable, but oftentimes sick "product," otherwise known as a puppy mill. The security expert gathers elaborate proof of the illegal operation and shuts it down under the guidance of the joint forces of two separate Societies for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals. Unfortunately and contrary to expectations, the raid on the Bitters' mill isn't the happy ending everyone planned for; the Bitters enact retribution on DJ. She relies on love interest detective Max Swain to rescue her from their torturous grip.

Long Slide

by Blair Oliver, Ph.D. and Peter Soliunas

"Dazzling debuts are rare as stardust. And phew-oh, The Long Slide is glittering, one of those novels I'd like to quote whole chunks of. Here are two of my favourite lines: 'There were two kinds of drunks, the ones who needed another beer to keep settled and the ones who used that extra beer to get unsettled. I was always the former.' And, 'A bitterer pill was never swallowed in the name of pride.' And that's just in the first ten pages! The Long Slide is a blast of sheer nitro-plotting with a narrator who's so full on, you feel you've known him always. This novel announces a huge new voice; it's a book that's going to be on everyone's list by the end of the year."

Ken Bruen, author of The Guards, Once Were Cops, and London Boulevard

"Clever, smart, cynical dialogue... narrative I'd give an arm to be able to write... The Long Slide is a wild ride through the new wild, wild west with gunfights, open mine shafts, a dame to kill (or be killed) for and one man's journey back to himself and trout fishing. An excellent debut."

Charlie Stella, author of Jimmy Bench-Press, Shakedown, and Mafiya

The Long Slide is a crime novel set in the new, roadside West, where bison graze alongside billboards of bison and even accountants pack heat. Henry Gavin, the narrator, is a bamboo fly rod aficionado and editor of the Copper Falls Gazette, the only newspaper in a dying, Colorado mining town. Copper, the town's last best resource, is also its curse. The land and its waters are beautiful, but deadly.

Death's Green Eyes

by Kent Wallace

Death's Green Eyes is a contemporary murder mystery which revolves around the main character - Wade Ellington. Wade is knock-around guy who has done everything and seen more - from drug smuggling to prostitution; from providing protection to those who need it, to retrieving things for people who can't go through traditional channels for help... Ellington has thrived in society's underbelly - mingling with hookers and hit-men, crooked cops and mafia capos... A desperate late night telephone call from a long ago friend and lover - an ex-prostitute turned movie star - throws him into a frenzied case of whodunit...

Against his better judgment and the advice of his patrono, Ellington's conscience and unorthodox belief system force him to find the killer - in the process he finds love and self-respect. Simply put, Wade Ellington is a good guy with a bad boy background. As written by Kent Wallace, Death's Green Eyes has an unmistakably real voice. The author obviously knows his subject. And this is what is missing in crime novels these days.

"Having appeared in such mob classics as 'Casino' and the 'Sopranos', and being from the Little Italy neighborhood represented in Death's Green Eyes, I can tell you the Kent knows his subject. He ought to; he spent a lot of time here. The characters; sights and sounds-the nonstop action-are right on the mark. This book has feature film written all over it!"

Vinny Vella

"Kent Wallace, with his extensive background in the adult industry (having seen it from all angles) and his sexually provocative and descriptive style of writing makes the sex scenes in this book sizzle and stimulate-raw passion at its best."
