Location

Winter Escape usually takes place at the beautiful Westmoreland State Park in Virginia, about a 2-hour car ride south from Washington, DC. This is the same location as the 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2015 WE retreats. It's a different park from the location of the Young Souls' retreats.

There are about 6 miles of hiking trails in the park, and there are about 1.5 miles of Potomac waterfront land, including a beach area. Some hiking trails start near the cabins and go near the beach area.

The park is also located near the town of Colonial Beach, VA, which contains many tourist attractions of historical interest, including: George Washington birthplace monument, James Monroe birthplace and the Alexander G. Bell summer house (can only view exterior).
