Door Refinishing

Beginning February 14 through April 1, Windsor Hills residents can call our door refinishing contractor, Sturdy Doors, at 832.820.6022 Monday-Friday between 8 AM-5 PM to schedule door refinishing. Indicate you are a Windsor Hills resident and ask to schedule a Door Maintenance appointment. (Also indicate any additional resident expense work you wish Sturdy Doors to do). Home addresses in the 2022 cycle are posted in the Clubhouse. Resident addresses scheduled for 2022 may opt out of this cycle, but by doing so, it will be three (3) more years before again becoming eligible for Association-provided front door refinishing service.

HOA-provided service is the refinishing of the exterior side of the front door. Additional services are available from Sturdy Doors at the owner’s expense. Residents not in the 2022 cycle who wish to take advantage of Sturdy Doors services this year at their own expense can also call Sturdy Doors during this scheduling window for an appointment at HOA negotiated rates. Additional services offered at resident expense include:

o Full refinishing includes chemically stripping the door’s exterior side, sanding to the bare wood, staining to color, and spraying four (4) coats of urethane. Additional resident cost to front door exterior side is $100. ($250 per side for any additional doors. The resident’s cost for full refinishing both sides of the front door would be $350)

o Weatherstripping - Sturdy Doors can replace bottom sweeps (under the door), brass or compression weatherstripping around the door, and install external weatherstripping. The additional resident cost per door is $50 for the bottom sweep. For doorframe weatherstripping, the cost is $100 for compression or $150 for copper.

o Door painting of any additional doors to any approved color by the HOA. Sturdy Doors will sand the door exterior side smooth, prime the door, sanding between coats, then spray the paint for a smooth finish. They perform these steps while the door is off the hinges and hardware is removed. Each exterior door cost is $200 per side ($400 for both sides) with the resident providing the paint.
