Deep Earth Meeting
The Deep Earth Meeting provides an excellent platform to discuss interesting papers and/or present our recent exciting research progress on a variety of deep Earth topics, including mineral physics, geodynamics, seismology, and geochemistry. In each monthly meeting, a number of group members, including designated or volunteered, will lead the discussions.
We welcome anyone (faculty, postdoc, student, and research assistant, etc.) interested in this meeting to join us!
Please contact Wen-Pin (ironck13@gmail.com) if you have any questions or volunteer to lead the discussion.

The July meeting will be held in the 3F library of IES at 3 pm, July 16. Wen-Pin will lead the discussion.
2024/6/17 Wen-Che talked about ULVZs and Suki recapped the pPv since it was discovered 20 years ago.
2024/5/20 Shijie visited IES and shared us with his recent results on the modeling of dynamic interactions between climatic and solid-Earth processes on glacial cycle timescales.
2024/4/26 Frederic, Joshua, and Tom talked about mapping CMB heat flux, modeling of negative heat flux within LLSVPs, and the effects of pPv and slabs on heat flux lateral and temporal variations.
2024/3/22 Eh discussed subduction initiation. Ban shared his preliminary seismic data about SKS off-path polarization with potential links to mantle dynamics.
2024/2/5 We kicked off our deep Earth meeting! Wen-Pin introduced davemaoite and its effects on mantle mineralogy and dynamics. Ji-Ching discussed the topmost outer core low-velocity layer from the perspectives of geodynamics, seismology, and mineral physics.
