WEEK #7 RESULTS & HIGHLIGHTS
The defending WFBL champion VANCOUVER CUBS (7-0) remained the league's lone unbeaten club following hard fought 6-5 win at iT-wan Stadium over the host BOSTON BULLDOGS (3-3-1) who slip back to the .500 mark. Jacob Misiorowski, Logan Gilbert, and Robbie Ray led the Cubbies on the mound.
In front of their home fans at Busch Stadium, the SAINT LOUIS CARDINALS (3-4) picked up their second straight win over an eastern power by flying past the BRANTFORD BISONS (4-3) in a 7-5 victory. Byron Buxton and the Cardinals starting pitching remained hot.
The PHILADELPHIA ATHLETICS (6-1) got back into the win column by rallying from behind for an 8-4 victory over the visiting LAS VEGAS HIGH ROLLERS (3-4) at the Navy Yard in Philly. Bryce Harper and Aaron Judge had big weeks, including huge late homers, for the A's.
At Lakefront Stadium in Cleveland the visiting EUGENE EMERALDS (4-3) got strong outings from Aaron Nola and Michael McGreevy to help pace their 9-3 rout of the host CLEVELAND SPIDERS (4-3) who dropped their second straight.
The visiting PORTLAND WOLFPACK (3-4) won their second straight by dumping the host ALABAMA FARMERS (2-5) by a 7-5 final. Eduardo Rodriguez and Braxton Ashcraft delivered strong starts for the Portland rotation.
At General Motors Park, the host DETROIT DRILLERS (3-4) treated the home fans to a 12-0 shutout of the HORSHAM CHARGERS (3-4) led by Davis Martin and Foster Griffin with strong outings on the mound.
Led by the arms of Nolan McLean and Jack Leiter, the NEW YORK KNIGHTS (3-3-1) traveled cross country and came home with a key 7-5 victory over the host SPOKANE INDIANS (2-5) at Avista Stadium. A fourth straight defeat dropped the Tribe into the west basement.
At Frog City Field the host Rayne Rajin' Cajuns (4-3) got back above the .500 mark with a 9-3 victory over the reeling MONTREAL EXPOS (1-6) who saw their losing skid reach a half-dozen games. Brandon Lowe and Brent Rooker led the Bayou Boys.
The host OMAHA STORM CHASERS (3-3-1) and visiting GEORGIA PINES (3-3-1) each remained at the .500 mark following a 6-5 draw at Werner Park in Omaha. The arm of Bryce Elder led the Pines with the bat of Bobby Witt Jr pacing the Storm Chasers.
Detroit blanked Horsham with Davis Martin providing much of the pitching excellence
