Beekeeping 101

Western Colorado Beekeepers Association will be hosting a Introduction to Beekeeping Workshop

When: Saturday May 16, 2026 from 10:00 to 2:00

Where: Clifton Assembly of God Church, 258 5th St, Clifton CO. 

Topics to be covered 

Bee biology

Location consideration

Equipment

Obtaining and installing your bees

Hive inspections

Integrated pest management

Varroa mites and viral diseases

Bacterial and fungal diseases

Pesticide uses and your bees

Honey, making and selling 

Followed by a catered lunch

After lunch there will be hands on hive inspections and other activities

Please bring PPE (Jacket/Vail) if you wish to participate in the hands on activities

Cost is Free for WCBA Members.

Non Members: $25 for in person, $15 for Zoom. 

In person registration qualifies for a free WCBA membership.
