I taught courses in the health and physical education department for several years, until I moved to the Professional & Secondary Studies Department. Since that time I teach mostly educational technology courses. As my educational background suggests, I have very little "student" experience in this area - but have self-taught myself a great deal about this area and have developed quite a passion for the possibilities that technology brings to teaching and training.

Regardless of the subject, my teaching is driven by my philosophy of education, which can be summed up as follows:

It's the questions we can't answer that teach us the most.

They teach us how to think.

If you give a man an answer, all he gains is a little fact, but give him a question and he'll look for his own answers. 

That way, when he finds the answers they will be precious to him.

The harder the question, the harder we hunt. The harder we hunt, the more we learn.

I believe that:

1.     All students can become lifelong learners.

2.     Significant learning requires commitment and time.

3.     Struggle is a necessary and important part of learning.

4.     Learners must be responsible for their learning.

5.     Teacher should never do for students what they can do for themselves
