Very steady conditions tonight, the Little Red Spot is approaching the meridian on the STZ, with an extensive dark wake behind it. The GRS turbulence on the SEB is extensive, more so than last year. Several white spots on the SSTB as well as significant eddies and swirls on the NEB. A string of dark spots on the edge of the NPR. A very red NNTB. Three moons visible, Callisto is underneath Jupiter (actually far in the distance) with Io (furthest left) approaching the disk and Europa (closest left) having reappeared from Jupiter's shadow while taking the R data.

First Jupiter image for 2017. Conditions average. Note how big Jupiter is compared to the image below, due to it now being at opposition. Lots of turbulence on the NEB, a complex NEB(s). The GRS wake is setting and seems more extensive in longitude than last year. A few blue festoons in the EZ, a very red NTB.

First Jupiter image for a while due to lots of rain. Note how much smaller it is than previously, Jupiter is almost 1AU further away than at opposition. There is a bright outbreak on the NEB(s), the NEB itself is a dark red, several spots in both NTB and STB. NTB is disconnected. The SEB continues to be bifurcated. Europa is to the left, Io is just visible on the right hand edge of the image.

Second of two RGB images tonight, Jupiter's rotation can be seen in the 8 minutes since the last picture was taken.Oval BA is now easier to see on the following limb and a small dark spot is seen on the NEB(n). It is also seen in the 6th May (3) image below and hasn't changed, it seems quiescent. GRS turbulence is very detailed!

First of two RGB images tonight. The shadow of Ganymede dominates the NTR, Ganymede itself is visible to the right. Jupiter now has a noticeable gibbous phase as it approaches quadrature. The GRS has its full dark collar again it must have been masked by the seeing on the 15th. White Spot Z is almost due north of the GRS now. Significant turbulence on the SEB and Oval BA is just rising.

Second of two RGB images tonight. The GRS still has the dark collar, but does not look as extensive as on May 6th. Whatever was swallowed is being absorbed.White spot Z is on the NEB(n), is there a white spot in the middle of the SEB near the preceeding limb? If so it is more distinct than on previous nights. The SEB is bifurcated and the NEB turbulent. Some small spots in the polar regions otherwise quiet.

Io has appeared out of Jupiter's shadow, note the bright outbreak on the NEB(n) with several nearby eddies. The turbulence of the GRS is dying down and the SEB becomes bifurcated. A GRS transit tonight, the first of 4 RGB images. Seeing was excellent, GRS has a clear dark core, with significant turbulence around it. There is a very dark collar preceeding it which was not there on the April 14th image below. It has swallowed something! White Spot Z on the NTB is clear, as well as other details too numerous to mention. Jupiter is smaller than it was on the 25th April, the Earth is pulling away.

The same side of Jupiter as per the 20th April, seeing good to excellent. Image #1 from tonight (below) is slightly sharper. Some features have changed in the last 5 days. NEB(n) very turbulent and detailed, many outbreaks, particularly a white outbreak near the following limb. Oval BA right on the proceeding limb. Several small white spots in the STB, NPR quiet. One festoon on the NEB(s) near the white outbreak. A small dark oval on the NEB(n) and the white outbreak deserve closer inspection.
