Why Bother Looking at an Email Header?
This is a very good question. For the most part, you really wouldn’t ever need to unless:
You suspect an email is a phishing attempt or spoof
You want to view routing information on the email’s path
Regardless of your reasons, reading email headers is actually quite easy and can be very revealing.

If you get an email that appears to be from you or others are getting emails that appear to be from you, report this to your email provider support desk or to your I.T. Department. If an email appearing to come from you requests ransom etc. Report this to your email provider or I.T. department - do not email back to that party.
If is very easy for scammers to fake your email address and others may get emails that apparently are from your email address - it is a good idea to have your I.T. department report these emails to the F.B.I. for further investigation
