Hello students and welcome to our webquest on modern day slavery!

We hope that through this webquest you will be able to see our contemporary society and some of its complex issues from many different perspectives.

Understanding human trafficking and modern day slavery is going to take a little research as many misconceptions often revolve around these themes.

We are often informed by the media about migrants arriving to our country almost on a daily basis.

Have you ever asked yourself why so many are coming?

Some people in our country would like to simply get rid of the migrants as they think they are too many.

Some suggest that appropriate actions should be taken in order to send them back to their own native countries.

Others are in favour of their stay provided they accept our own customs and get integrated in our society.

Humanitarians believe that every human being in need should be given food and shelter and that all migrants should be welcome.

Many of these migrants have undertaken long journeys...

Who has paid for that?

Why have they decided to come?

Was it their own free choice?

Are they victims of human traficking?

Let's start a debate on this!
