On each "name card" drawing a prisoner wrote his name, military trade, squadron, home town and the date and location he was shot down or taken prisoner.
POW photographs of many of the prisoners listed here from Robert Toomey's collection can be found in the section "Fellow Prisoners of War".
Toomey also entered information for his pilot, Capt. William "Bud" Fairgrieve, who was killed in the attack on their plane on August 17, 1944 over Denmark after returning from a bombing raid on Stettin, Germany.

[Excerpt from the Toronto Daily Star, July 24, 1945: Flt. Sgt. Kenneth Earl Clifford Slack drowned May 9, 1945 trying to rescue a German whose boat had capsized in the Elbe River. "The camp in which Earl was a prisoner was liberated by the Russians April 22, and the boys were on their way home. Camped one day on the banks of the Elbe, Earl noticed that a German was in difficulties when his boat had upset," his mother said. "Earl and a companion swam out to save him, but Earl was carried away by the swift current while both the German and Earl's companion were saved." Source: Find a Grave.com]
