Description

Walnut Ridge is an 188 acre classified forest property with a tremendous variety in terrain, animals and flora. The elevation is varied, from 845 to 1000 feet above sea level. Lick Creek and several small unnamed streams run through the property. A small spring-fed man-made pond is located on Walnut Ridge. Blue Clay Falls and several other small falls are located at Walnut Ridge and many are visible from Hunt Road. Natural springs are found within the boundaries. The water shed flows to the East Fork of the Whitewater River/Smith Creek. Part of the property along Lick Creek is listed as forested broad-leaved Deciduous and emergent temporarily flooded wetland.

Various species of trees are found on the land, including Cottonwood, Sugar Maple, Red Oak, Sycamore, Tuliptree, and Black Walnut. Minor species found on the land include Blue Ash, Green Ash, White Ash, American Beech, Blackhaw, Ohio Buckeye, Butternut, Black Cherry, Kentucky Coffeetree, American Elm, Red Elm, Hackberry, Shagbark Hickory, Black Locust, Honey Locust, Musclewood, Chinkapin Oak, White Oak, Osage Orange, Redbud, Spicebush, Willow, Black Maple, Hoptree, and Prickly Ash.

Bird and wildlife is varied, to include deer and turkey.
