"Why cut down a tree?"

It is everyone's responsibility to ensure tree growth is monitored and managed. When a forest is out of balance or overcrowded all the trees in the forest suffer. If you do not manage it desired tree growth is slowed, undesirable trees grow and take over the understory often causing damage and death to regenerating trees. In the long term this can kill the entire forest. Also managing the ash trees with the presence of EAB in our area is prudent at this time. You will be amazed in the next few years to watch the new growth begin and the older trees grow more rapidly and healthy. Great care is being taken to ensure the minimum forest disturbance possible. One added benefit is we will maintain the new trails created with this project.
