The WAF Board has ongoing discussions regarding 2021 potential events and activities
Below you will find the current meeting minutes from our meeting this week.
Conference Call Notes – 1-12-21
Present: Lynn, Judi, Fr. Riley, Lorraine, Marianne, Frank, Clare, John, Anna
Absent:
Fr. Riley opened the call with a prayer.
1): International Statue for 2022 – Lynn reported that reservations are not being accepted as yet for 2022 but she will continue to inquire so that we can make a reservation as soon as it is allowed.
2): True Devotion Mass – after talking to Frank and Clare, Lynn suggested that this Mass be cancelled this year because of the uncertainty of the times due to the pandemic. Frank told us that last year there was a True Devotion Mass at St. Mary’s, Foxboro with a talk about the meaning of the True Devotion given by Anna Kelly which was live-streamed by her husband. Since livestream is available there, the board discussed if we could have a True Devotion Mass there which could be presented on the St. Mary livestream. Frank will discuss this option with Clare and get her input.
3): Annual Meeting – could be either Sunday, June 6, the Feast of Corpus Christi, or Saturday, June 11 on the Feast of the Immaculate Heart. It is uncertain if the Pastoral Center will be open at that time, and if so, how many members would be comfortable attending in person. Fr. Riley suggested possibly having the Mass and talks on a livestream presentation.
4): Feast Day of St. Francisco and St. Jacinta - A livestream Mass or Holy Hour on Sat. Feb. 20 was discussed. Fr. Riley suggested inquiring if St Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood would be available and perhaps some of the families who are participating in the Family Rosary Mission would be interested in attending. This possibility will be looked into and reported back to the BOT.
5): Year of St. Joseph – Lynn asked for suggestions from members of ways to celebrate. The ideas that we come up with could be announced on the website. Lorraine suggested Fr. David Calloway’s book, The Consecration to St. Joseph, which people could do on their own. Marianne informed us that Fr. Calloway will give a talk on St. Joseph on the upcoming First Saturday, Feb 6, which will live-streamed from the national shrine. Registration and information can be found on the national website.
6) Banner – Clare reported that it is still early and there are no reservations at this time.
7) Website – Clare reported that the Boston link on the national website gives the wrong contact information for the BOT. It was decided that the correct information will be given to them with a request that the website be updated. Clare also shared information about a website that eCatholic is offering for a 30 day free trial. After the free trial, the fee would be $350 for a year with a $25 monthly maintenance fee. Clare made a motion that she and Anna and Frank would try to build a new website and take advantage of the 30 day free trial, and then make a presentation to the BOT. The motion passed unanimously.
8) Balance: $1278. A suggestion was made that information about how the money is spent be added to the Treasurer’s report in the future.
9) Next conference call: Tues. Feb. 2, will be a zoom meeting.
Fr. Riley closed the call with a prayer.
