What is True Devotion to Mary
According to St. Louis de Montford?
True Devotion is the consecration of oneself
totally to Jesus Thru Mary. True Devotion consists
in giving oneself entirely to our lady so that we
may belong entirely to Jesus through her. It is
nothing less than the perfect renewal of our
baptismal vows.
Should you make this consecration?
Pray on it. Ask God if it is His will for you.
Why should you want to make this
consecration?
Pope John Paul ll says (in his encyclical letter - Mother of the Redeemer)
"I would like to recall, among the many witnesses and teachers of Marian spirituality,
the figure of St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort, who proposes
consecration to Christ through the hands of Mary, as an effective means for Christians to
live faithfully their baptismal commitments."
Fr. Frederick Miller says: (Former Director of the World Apostolate of Fatima)
That True Devotion to Mary according to St. Louis de Montfort is "The Fatima Message Lived in Depth"

CONSECRATION
TO
JESUS CHRIST THE INCARNATE WISDOM THROUGH THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
As I Kneel Before You…
As I kneel before you,
As I bow my head in in prayer,
Take this day
Make it yours
And fill me with your love.
AVE MARIA
GRATIA PLENTA
DOMINUS TECUS
BENIDICTA TU
All I have I give you
Every dream and wish are yours
Mother of Christ, Mother of mine
Present them to the Lord.
AVE MARIA
GRATIA PLENTA
DOMINUS TECUS
BENIDICTA TU
As I kneel before you,
And I see your smiling face
Every thought – Every word,
Is lost in your embrace
(repeat twice)
AVE MARIA
GRATIA PLENTA
DOMINUS TECUS
BENIDICTA TU
Lord Jesus, Wisdom Eternal and Wisdom Incarnate, so worth of our love and adoration, true God and true man, only Son of the Eternal Father and of the ever-virgin Mary, I adore you present from all eternity amid the glory of your Father and present in time, Incarnate in the virginal womb of Mary, most worthy to be your Mother.
To you, all thanksgiving for having emptied yourself, taking on the condition of a slave (Phil. 2,7) to free me from the devil’s cruel slavery. To you, praise and glory for having willingly subjected yourself in all things to Mary, your holy Mother, so as to make of me, at her hands, your own faithful slave.
I now regretfully confess that I have been both ungrateful and unfaithful to you and have not kept the vows and promises I made to you with such solemnity on the day I was baptized. For not having fulfilled my obligations I do not deserve to be called your child or even your slave and, since there is nothing in me but what deserves your rejection and anger, I no longer dare to approach your holy and awesome majesty on my own.
For this reason, I turn for help to the merciful intercession of your Mother whom you have appointed as my intermediary, and it is through her that I hope to obtain from your contrition and forgiveness of my sins, the gift of divine wisdom and the grace to safeguard this gift forever.
TO YOU, then, I TURN, MARY IMMACULATE, living tabernacle of the Godhead. It is in you that Eternal Wisdom remains hidden and where he desires to receive the adoration of angels and men.
Hail Queen of heaven and earth, Sovereign of all that is not God.
Hail unfailing refuge of sinners who mercy is denied to none of us. Grant the request I make to obtain divine Wisdom and as a token of their sincerity, accept the commitments, which, in all humility, I now undertake: I, N________________________________, UNFAITHFUL AND sinful as I am, today take your hands in mine, and renew and ratify my baptismal promises, renouncing for ever Satan, all his seductions and all his works, and making a total donation of myself to Jesus Christ, Wisdom Incarnate, with the intention of carrying the cross in his footsteps all the days of my left and of being more faithful to him than I have been until now.
Today, with the whole court of heaven to witness, I choose you for my Mother and Queen. As your slave, I deliver up and dedicate to you my body, my soul, all my spiritual and temporal possessions, including even the rewards of any good action of mine, past, present or future, with the right to make use of me and what is mine, without exception, as you think best for the greater glory of God in time and eternity.
OF YOUR KINDNESS, O BLESSED VIRGIN MARY, receive this humble acknowledgement of my state as your slave. I make it to honor and to identify myself with the state of dependence divine Wisdom was pleased to accept towards you, his Mother. I intend it to be also an acknowledgement of the power you both have over me, wretched sinner that I am, and an expression of thanksgiving to the Blessed Trinity for the graces bestowed on you. I proclaim that, from now on, it is my intention to live as one who really is your slave, one who seeks to honour you and to obey you in all things.
Mother most admirable, lead me into the presence of your divine Son as one who is His slave forever so that He who redeemed me through you, may welcome me as His own through you.
Mother of Mercy, graciously obtain for me the true wisdom which comes from God, and the grace to be numbered among those whom you love, whom you instruct, guide, nourish and protect as your children and your slaves.
Virgin most faithful, make of me in all things such a perfect disciple, imitator and slave of Wisdom Incarnate, Jesus Christ, that I may, thanks to your intercession and example, come to the fullness of his age here on earth, and of his glory in Heaven. AMEN
