05.) BLOG POST(S): PARAMETRIC FURNITURE: DESIGN/DEFINITION

Assignment Description:

Over the next three weeks, you are responsible for documenting progress on your Parametric Furniture design and definition in a series of (at least) two process blog posts. This will include building your definition in Grasshopper, creating geometry in Rhino, high-quality renders of your final design, and planning for fabrication (materials and processes) of a scale model of your design.

Assignment Requirements:

1.) Visual Documentation (screenshots of definitions and geometry, renders)

2.) Explanations and descriptions for visuals

3.) The first post should focus on building a definition and creating geometry

4.) The second post should include:

a.) high-quality renders in rhino

b.) a plan for fabrication of a scale model that considers:

i.) What is the scale?

ii.) What materials will you use (i.e. paper, 3dp plastic, wood, acrylic, fabric, hardware, etc)?

iii.) What processes will you use for each component (i.e. 3d printing, laser cutting, hand-fabrication)

5.) The first post is due next week, the second is due after we return from Reading Week.
