04.) BLOG POST: Parametric Furniture: Concept Generation

Assignment Description:

As a first step toward our next milestone project - Parametric Furniture Design - we will do some concept generation and generate a plan of action for a final design.

Assignment Requirements:

1.) Begin by doing some research on contemporary, innovative, unconventional and/or avant-garde furniture design. Start by browsing the research links below (all taken from thisiscolossal.com.)

2.) Create 16 sketches (thumbnails) of potential designs.

a.) consider a variety of furniture objects (i.e. seating, tables, shelving, cabinetry, lamps, beds, etc)

b.) each of these concepts should be distinctively different from one another

3.) Choose one concept to move forward with, and generate three (3) iterations of the design, considering:

a.) Which features might be parameterized?

b.) What is the scale of this object? Include rough dimensions

4.) Reflect on what inspired your chosen concept.

5.) Document all of the above in a new post on your process blog.
