The purpose of this challenge is to experience as much as possible in each pack. I often think back on a very old pack and realize I never ... So now, with this challenge encourages me to experience "it all." When choosing the tasks for each pack, choose first that thing you have never done before.
To play you de-activate all the packs listed to the right. They include all Expansion, Game, and Stuff Packs, and one of the kits. James Turner has instructions and a tool for generating the needed code on his site. Then you add up to 3 packs at a time in order of release date. So you will start the game with Outdoor Retreat, Get to Work, and Luxury Party active, along with any kits not listed that you do want. After you have "completed" Outdoor Retreat, based on the following rules, you will activate Perfect Patio and play with OR, GtW, LP, and PP active while focusing on GtW, LP, and PP. You MAY NOT activate Perfect Patio until Outdoor Retreat is done, active packs must be within a consecutive group of 3. If you are skipping a pack for immersive or mechanical reasons it will still be activated in order and when it comes around it will not be included as one of the 3, though you do still need to complete it as timely as possible.
Rules:
Normal lifespan and no early aging. Start the game on a pre-built lot in Willow Creek or Oasis Springs with one young adult.
The heir in each generation must be a direct descendant (by birth or adoption) to the founding family member (the young adult you started the game with).
So long as at least one of the mortal parents of the growing generation is a Young Adult a new child must be added to the household when the youngest current member of the household reaches Child.
Any or all the kits may be loaded at any time (exception: Bust the Dust ?and maybe Restoration Workshop? as they add gameplay content).
Keep the packs in order except where a task cannot be worked on at the present (exception: Spooky Stuff just goes so much nicer after you activate Seasons if you desire). For example,
you need someone to max a career, but no young adult sims are presently in the family. You load it, but don't play that pack until a child grows up,
there is a bug that a future pack fixes or works around; again load it, but wait to play until you have both packs, etc.
When a new town becomes available (exception: Magnolia Promenade is strictly retail) the family must move to a prebuilt lot in that city.
The lot traits and challenges for the current pack in play must be active, all of them. You may edit them out after completing a pack, even if the family doesn't move.
Any time the pack comes with new professions or careers, a sim in the household must choose one and reach the top of that career.
New sim traits should be added to growing sims as soon as possible, heir or not.
Each time a new skill is added by a pack a sim in the household must master it.
With each pack that adds a collection or adds to an existing collection, the family must complete one of the affected collections. You may keep of dispose of the collections as you wish, while adhering to the other rules.
Any time new methods of trade are added by the activation of a pack, acceptable items must be sold in that fashion from then on. For example,
with City Living, claim a table at the flea market to sell items that can be placed on the table,
Henford-on-Bagley market stalls buy the goods that they sell, so if Cottage Living is active, you must go here to sell groceries and animal products, etc.
A pack that has a locale that can be improved via gameplay must be played to complete that improvement. For example,
you must live in each neighborhood of in Eco Lifestyle,
solve the Strangerville mystery, etc.
Many of the stuff packs initiate a build and nothing more, and that is okay too. For example,
Cool Kitchen Stuff adds ice cream making, but if you have already done this, or simply plan to keep ice cream in the fridge at all times, update your kitchen and move on, etc.
For an extra challenge: Try to stock a chest or retail with all food types in a never spoil state (made with the Master Chef trait). Collecting these foods as the packs activate can be a real challenge.
Little Ms. Sam is one of my favorite moders for Sims 4. This mod makes the woodworking table more immersive, because you can now make all kinds of furniture to fully furnish your home.
MCCC by Deaderpool is a mod module extravaganza. I use it primarily to pause the game after a load screen. The base mod is the only one I keep installed all the time, but I currently play with Clubs and Population.
Created and uploaded by avacadoloki, this puts the events of Sulani on the calendar the way the events in Copperdale and other towns are. This makes events I never even knew about before easy for me to see.
A Little Ms. Sam bug fix. In most of my games, plants still revert to dirt piles regardless of the fix EA claims to have pushed. So I use this workaround. I also use the Add-on that keeps the plants grown when out of season. My logic is some plants do stay grown when not producing and this way I don't have to wait for them to regrow every year.
