February 20th I streamed the arrival of DragonflySara in Oxbow. This game is a fantastic composition of survival combat, resource gathering, crafting, and city building. I am really looking forward to continuing this series after we finish the Sims 4 project currently airing every day on Twitch.tv.
When we get back we will be playing a slow game, to enjoy all the aspects of the development, and build a beautiful village!

Back in 2017 I started a Minecraft project that sparked a YouTube video. Starting in Feb 2018, I regularly posted for about 2 years, just for fun. Then I came back to YouTube with new content every year or so. Recently I have accepted the limitations that my disability gives me, and have decided to make creation my new career.
This trailer is the beginning of this journey with you, my community and audience. As discussed within I am premiering (and in fact already have) with Medieval Dynasty livestreams on Friday mornings at 4 am MT. This Friday I will be rebooting Sims 4 Through the Packs on Twitch.tv at 10 am MT, and that will continue weekly. Finally, next week, I will resume the Building JKR's Wizarding World in Minecraft project that was retired in 2019, every Saturday at 10 am MT.
Each live stream will have a recap on YouTube: Medieval Dynasty on Sunday, Sims 4 on Monday, and Minecraft on Tuesday. I am a bit slow getting the video out this first week as I gain my confidence, re-learn the software, and improve my space and equipment but you should see that first Medieval Dynasty video a bit late in just a few days (maybe quicker).
I hope I have a lot of people joining and participating in my community as I take these first steps in this new direction!
February 7, 2025
I did a live stream today, Medieval Dynasty, and discovered afterward the whole thing was unwatchable. I record my streams in two locations, upon exit from my broadcasting software and when received by the server. Both videos were identical so that places the problem firmly on my system, not a connection or internet issue.
My video only recorded about 1 hour of video but all 4 hours of audio, sped up like my brother watches YouTube.
We have decided the problem is probably RAM so I have ordered DDR4 SODIMM 3600 MHz 260-pin from Amazon and expect delivery Sunday. Brother will come over and help me install it (when we split up the household the boys got all the tools (how mundane).

I am giving my online creator career another shot. I am also trying to write a novel. After almost a year of no productive behavior I am trying to live life again.
Oh, and to make sure it gets spread as far as possible:
Sara's Smile Law 2025
Premise: smiling is scientifically proven to make you feel 5-10% happier every time you do it.
Law: Smile 20 times a day every day. This makes the year twice as good as it would otherwise be, and maybe even better than the last.

Okay, a new day! I am going to organize my channels, schedules, and brand to be the best it can be. I am getting started right now!
January 31, 2024
I am sick. Respiratory bug, and it is making me feel and act miserable. I cannot wait to feel better and get back to my life!
January 28, 2024
I had a glorious week of help from Sajib Bairagi. My subscribers on YouTube skyrocketed, he did a great job getting me on my feet. I am working on a maintainable schedule to become a popular YouTube Creator and Twitch Streamer. I like the content I have planned for my channels and hope others will like what I have in store.
I really want marketers to stop pestering me during streams though. I need to come up with a reaction that is not closing the stream, but I get so angry when people don't follow the rules.
Marketers, my streams are for my viewers and myself to talk about the game. If you have something to sell I am on LinkedIn. Be kind and professional and I might listen to you!

A new series starts this week! Check out the trailer here.
January 16, 2024
I am reentering the world. My Twitch account is new. My YouTube channel has new content. My website has a whole new face and purpose. I pray to God that I can stay in the world this time around. I think the trick is to do what feels comfortable. Some needs must be taken care of in uncomfortable ways, probably, but most should feel natural. Doing things the way I or other think they 'should' be done makes me wan to cry and hide. Comfort is my new goal.

This post will be a bit longer than the others as I explain how we are going to change the world in 2021.
#Make2021BetterThan2020
The year 2020 has been hard on out mental health, physical health, neighbors, friends, and economy, and more. I have come up with a plan to begin the healing in a healthy measurable way in 2021.
What you need:
A couple people to share your project with: be they family, friends, neighbors, church members, AA members, the local coffee shop regulars, whomever, and just three or four.
A thoughtful understanding of how your life can be improved; A project that can be accomplished in an ongoing fashion in 2021 that will make your life better than it was in 2020.
One day a month that you and your group can meet all together in "the same place". This could be a zoom or duo of facetime call, the living room of the space you share anyhow, or the local park, but it must be at the same time, and with the same resources (I will explain this further in a moment).
Your "New Year's Project - Rules:
It must improve your life, or the life of someone else, over what we had in 2020.
It must be something that can be done continually all year.
It cannot be something that has the requirement "every day" in it.
It must be something others in your group can "see" you doing.
Some example projects:
Cook x new meals every month.
Shovel the walk and cut the grass of my elder neighbor all year.
Walk at least 30 minutes 3 times a week.
Read x periodical in its entirety every month.
Write a blog/fiction online twice a month.
I hope you get the idea!
Now, here is the plan:
On January 1, 2021 you and your group meet in your designated way, discuss your plans and finalize them. If half your group believe you broke a rule then edits will need to be made until your project has a majority vote. When it is finalized it should be written/typed up and available to all members of your group. Oh, and you must eat cake while you do this; or maybe you share a beer, or shoot off fireworks, or some other reward like activity to mark the occasion.
Throughout January you work on your project. You update your group from the park halfway through your walk, or you upload photos of your new dish, or write a review of an article from x periodical.
Then on your designated day in February you group will get together again. Again you will eat, drink, and be merry. And this time your friends will congratulate you on a job well done. They will recognize their favorite photos, or your frequency of posts on your blog. YOU WILL NOT BRAG ABOUT YOURSELF. This is about recognition to and from others. And don't forget the cake!
Repeat every month.
Now 2021 is better than 2020!
December 11. 2020
14 days to Christmas and the world is in the throws a pandemic that makes dreams appear to sink. No one is allowed to see family or friends, carol around the neighborhood, or gift edible goodies to the strangers on the street this year. However one hidden gem is visible this year if you have the desire to see it. Take this time off to learn something new, a craft, science, mathematic, read a piece of classic literature, or write a blog. Reach out to tutors and teachers in your network to set up online learning of something you didn't have time for before. Make this year's holiday a time of growth.
December 4, 2020
Christmas is 21 days away.... And I Am So Excited!!!!!! The tree is up, the decorations are in place, the presents are still under way, and I love Christmas.
On another note, after medical leave, I am back in the job market. Looking for graduated exposure, possibly tutoring to get me started.
October 16, 2020
In the last 2 weeks I have been relatively busy. I have had some assessments for my mental health. I also harvested the rest of my outside garden and winterized the plot just 1 day before the snow came. I finished a craft project and began making my Christmas presents. A good two weeks I believe, hope you are all enjoying your lives, too.
October 2, 2020
This month I have been working diligently on my mental health. I will not go into details on this as I do not want to appear to be giving any sort of medical advice; bar this: I now have all the right kinds of doctors. My medical team even communicates with one another. I am pleased with the setup and look forward to distinct changes in the way I feel and behave.

This week I finished "What Color Is Your Parachute?" and completed that goal toward my eventual employment. I continued my Java studies (learned the name need not be in all caps for instance) and published a video on YouTube. I also began my search for a church here in Calgary. A pretty busy week!
August 29, 2020
This week I learned a bit more JAVA. I am really hoping to be able to put this knowledge to use in my Harry Potter/Minecraft project and my lunar research. I also reached a small-in-the-global-landscape-but-big-for-me milestone: I finally won a game of Bingo at Elements! Overall this was a good week!
August 21, 2020
COVID-19 has disrupted my life as much as everyone else's. That said my life now includes a garden, lots of time for reading and study and a healthy amount of soul searching. I think it might be a good idea to pick up my blog again. But in case I don't, please remember I am busy, but I remember you all.
December 13, 2013
Christmas is upon us again! My dad will be down in about a week, and I am hosting Christmas Eve dinner with friends and family again this year. The shopping is almost done, and school is out for the term, at least for most students. I have a research project still in the works, but will be done next week.
The semester was productive as usual. I went to a couple conferences, and took the GREs, general and for physics. I made A's and B's again, and learned a great deal.
Next semester I will finally get to take Orbital and Celestial Mechanics! I will also do a special topic with Dr. Bahrim, and take two more math courses, including Partial Differential Equations. I will also be finishing up the applications for graduate school, and selecting the location for the next leg of my life's journey.
I am still in line for graduation in May 2014.
March 10, 2013
I have been remiss about updating this during the normal semester so I should now provide an update. Over the winter holiday my father came down from Michigan to stay with Maribeth and myself. We enjoyed having him here.
The day school started I headed for the South Central Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics (SCUWiP) where I presented a poster titled "Analysis of Atomic Emission Spectra: a refined way to understand the photon concept". This was research done with Dr. Bahrim through STAIRSTEP.
Just after returning I received news that we were one of the six teams to receive the Sigma Pi Sigma Undergraduate Research Awards this year! I have been vigorously managing the team in our preparations to take the most accurate reading.
Spring Break is now here, and my vacation now ends. At the end of this week I leave for the YSS Undergraduate conference and the 44th Annual LPSC in The Woodlands, TX. I will be presenting a portion of my thesis research in a poster titled "What’s for Dinner? A Qualitative Study of In-Situ Food Production on a Lunar Colony".
About a week and a half after I return I will leave for another conference, the Spring 2013 Meeting of the Texas Sections of the APS, AAPT, SPS. I will be going with some of the members of SPS, STAIRSTEP, and my research group. I will present the same poster from SCUWiP.
I am still in line for graduation in May 2014.
December 7, 2012
Just a note about the book reviews: I am still reading and will continue to post reviews as time allows. This is no longer a summer project, but a life project!
December 7, 2012
Another semester under my belt. I have a final exam today and another on Monday and then I am off for the winter holiday. My dad and brother will be joining my sister and myself for Christmas and I will be continuing research in atomic spectroscopy with Dr. Bahrim in preparation for presentation at a conference in January. I will have a busy holiday but I still wait impatiently for it to begin!
July 30, 2012
We have been in Michigan for over a week now and I am having a blast! Three days so far of doing absolutely nothing, one day at Cedar Point, one visiting family in Windsor, ON Canada and another day at the Detroit Makers Faire. Today my father and sister and I took a long walk all around this small town, and into some of the others here around Detroit.
July 18, 2012
I now have my very own US Passport Card. I will be signing off my computer from now until we reach Michigan. I will post an update sometime after we arrive. Everyone stay safe!
July 13, 2012
My sister and I will be heading to the passport office next week to get our passports so we can go to Canada while we are on vacation later this month. The trip is going to be great. We will of course see dad, but we are also going to see our aunts, uncles, and cousins in Canada and hit the Fair on the 28th. It should be a lot of fun, with great skies on the way there and back!
June 16, 2012
My uncle has been in the hospital the past two days and was released yesterday evening. He has a blood clot in his leg. New medicines and bed rest until Monday for him. My stress level is a little higher but I am grateful that there have been no complications.
June 4, 2012
I borrowed my sister's collection of Star Trek Voyager on DVD. I have never seen the series so I thought I would give it a try this summer. The good thing is that if I like it I do not have to buy it because there is already a copy in the house.
June 2, 2012
Yesterday was 18 years since the passing of my mother. I spent the day in remembrance and mourning. I will always miss her.
May 18, 2012
This summer I have decided to do a personal reading program. My goal is to read about a book a week. The books will be fact and fiction in a variety of genre. I will prepare a list of books and post reviews on this site as I finish each.
Book Reviews
February 3, 2025
I have been binge reading the author Nancy Warren. I have read the existing episodes of The Great Witches Baking Show, The Vampire Book Club, Vampire Knitting Club, and Vampire Knitting Club: Cornwall. These are terrific cozy mysteries with a fanciful twist. I recommend all except the Vampire Book Club. That series had more evil and promiscuity than I enjoy in a cozy book. It is important to point out, however, that all the books take place in the same universe, and the characters crossover occasionally.
On a side note, I start book club again Thursday.
December 10, 2020
Another Book Club book: Comfort and Joy. Completely beautiful magic for the season. I am intending to reread this one. A good twist in the middle, and a lovely ending.
October 14, 2020
As part of my book club I read Little Fires Everywhere. AMESOME!!!! And to avoid a three page rant that is all I will say. Enjoy this book if you can.
September 28, 2020
I finished book 6 of the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries: Murder on the Sugarland Express. This series by Angie Fox is pure guilty pleasure reading, but it is incredibly fun. With a 1920's gangster ghost, a pet skunk, and a my-boyfriend-is-my-ex's-brother situation it never gets boring.
September 25, 2020
I re-read the Obsidian Trilogy series by Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory. I originally read this years ago and found that I enjoyed the re-read very much. The main characters are in the ultimate battle between light and dark and they are growing teens to boot. It is not a children's book, and I would definitely not classify it in the young adult category either. Well developed story. I recommend it for anyone interested in fantasy. Book 1 is "The Outstretched Shadow".
September 4, 2020
I completed working my way through What Color is your Parachute? by Richard Bolles. This book managed to help me bring a lot of skills and preferences to light with regard to the job market. I learned quite a bit about myself and job hunting post-2008. Definitely a recommended read for anyone looking at a career change.
August 29, 2020
I finished reading Dragonsblood by Todd McCaffery. This is the 7the book in chronological order of the Pern books written by his family, started by his mother, Anne. In this book we are reintroduced to Kindan, now a Journeyman Harper at Benden Weyr, and we meet Lorana, a gifted citizen of Pern, as the two and the rest of the Weyr try to battle an illness effecting the dragons, with some help through time from Wind Blossom! A good read, and as this was his first solo authoring in the series I would say he did his mother proud!
July 25, 2012
I have now completed the third book in A Song of Ice and Fire Series, A Storm of Swords. This is a fictional fantasy novel by George R. R. Martin.
Because this is a series many readers may be enjoying I will not review the story line of this middle novel. Needless to say, I will soon be starting the next book.
This series is definitely an adult novel, and is recommended for those readers that love fantasy. Do start with book 1 A Game of Thrones. I already own this book.
June 15, 2012
Today I finished Sun Observer's Guide. This is a non-fiction reference book written by Pam Spence.
This reference instructs amateur solar astronomers on the safest methods for observing solar phenomena from solar flares to sun spots, to eclipses. It also reviews the science behind the techniques used and the phenomena studied. The glossary is also convenient and detailed.
I plan on purchasing this book for my own library.
May 30, 2012
Today I completed How I Killed Pluto: and Why It Had It Coming. This is a non-fiction book written by the astronomer Mike Brown, the man who discovered Eris -- what was for a short time known as the tenth planet.
It covers life, marriage, his first child and his discoveries. He has a wonderful sense of humor and gives the reader a delightful incite into the social workings of a scientist's mind.
I recommend this book for all readers, not just those interested in science and astronomy.
