Chaque année, nous recevons des stagiaires, des étudiants de premier cycle aux doctorants. Leur encadrement est un élément essentiel pour notre groupe de recherche. Qu'ils choisissent ou non de continuer leur parcours dans le monde de la science nous espérons que ceux qui ont rejoint notre équipe pour un mois ou un an auront acquis des compétences et des connaissances qui les aideront à trouver un emploi qui leur plaise. Si vous envisagez de postuler à un stage ou à une offre de volontariat dans notre groupe n'hésitez pas à contacter nos anciens étudiants pour discuter avec eux de leur expérience parmi nous.
Former students
Every year, we receive trainees, from undergraduates to PhD students. Student supervision is really important for us. We hope that, whether or not they choose to work as scientists, the students that joined our team will have acquired skills and knowledge that will help them get a job they enjoy. - 01/2015-11/2018 - Emeline Sabourin:
Sujet de thèse: Dynamique de la fasciolose dans un système anthropisé: la Camargue (Tour du Valat – CNRS - Université de Montpellier)
Emeline a rejoint notre équipe en janvier 2015 pour son stage Master 2 et a continué en tant que doctorante à développer son projet de recherche axé sur la fasciolose. Elle a partagé son temps entre le laboratoire et le terrain et travaillé en étroite collaboration avec les éleveurs. Elle a soutenu sa thèse en novembre 2018 et planche aujourd'hui sur la finalisation de ses articles.
PhD Thesis: Dynamics of fasciolosis in a highly anthropized system: the Camargue. (Tour du Valat – CNRS - Montpellier University). Emeline joined our team in January 2015 for her Master 2 internship and came back as a PhD student a few months later to develop her research project focusing on fasciolosis. She shares her time between the laboratory andthe field and works in close collaboration with farmers. She defended her thesis in November 2018 and is now working on the finalization of her articles.

- 01-09/2018 - Justine Rouchon:
Justine est arrivée dans l’équipe en Janvier 2018 suite à l’obtention d’une licence BOPE (Biologie des Organismes, des Populations et des Écosystèmes). Elle a participé à nos nombreux projets auxquels elle a apporté son aide avec grand plaisir. Qu’importe les conditions météo, elle était toujours partante pour aller sur le terrain pour collecter des données ou faire des observations. Elle est actuellement en stage au CPIE Seignanx et Adour où elle travaille sur la préservation de la faune urbaine dans le cadre de sa licence professionnelle.
Justine joined the team in January 2018 after graduating with a bachelor in the Biology, Populations and Ecosystems. She participated in several projects and always helped us with enthusiasm. No matter the meteorological conditions, she was always ready to go in the field to collect data or to observe birds. She is currently doing an internship at CPIE Seignanx and Adour where she works on the preservation of urban wildlife as part of her professional bachelor project.

Bachelor internship. Kristianstad University (Sweden). Studying antimicrobial resistance in the Rhone delta comparison of genes and bacteria found in rodents and in water.
Stage de Licence. Université de Kristianstad (Suède). Étude de la résistance aux antimicrobiens dans le delta du Rhône, comparaison des gènes et des bactéries présents chez les rongeurs et dans l'eau.
- 01-06/2017 - Matteo Darienzo:
Stage Post-Master 2 avec l'université de Padoue (Italie). Modélisation du devenir des virus influenza aviaires dans un réseau complexe de zones humides: la Camargue. Matteo est actuellement en thèse à l'université de Grenoble. Il développe une méthode bayésienne d'estimation en temps réel de modèles hauteur-débit dynamiques, en utilisant un jeu de stations hydrométriques bien documentées.
Post-Master 2 internship. Padoue University (Italy). Modeling the fate of avian influenza virus in a complex wetland network: the Camargue. Matteo is currently doing a PhD at the University of Grenoble. He is developing a Bayesian method of real-time estimation of dynamic height-flow models, using a well-documented set of hydrometric stations.

Stage de Master 2. Dynamique de la fasciolose en Camargue: Impact des traitements et rôle de la faune sauvage.(Tour du Valat – CNRS – Université de Montpellier). Stephen est actuellement en thèse à l'université de Perpignan. Il travaille sur l'usage de l'ADN environnemental dans l'étude des parasites.
Master 2 internship. Dynamics of fasciolosis in the Camargue: the impact of antihelmintic treatments and the role of wildlife. (Tour du Valat – CNRS – Montpellier University). Stephen is currently doing a PhD at Perpignan University on the use of environmental DNA in the study of parasites.

Stage de Master 2. Dynamique de la fasciolose en Camargue (Tour du Valat – CNRS – Université de Louvain).
Après son stage Céline a suivi une formation en culture cellulaire/ virologie en Belgique. Elle travaille aujourd'hui dans une entreprise spécialiséeen thérapie cellulaire et médecine régénérative.Master 2 internship.
Dynamics of fasciolosis in the Camargue. (Tour du Valat – CNRS - Louvain University). After her internship, Céline trained in cell culture and virology in Belgium. She now works in a biomedical company specialized in regenerative medicine.

- 02-05/2015 - Hermann Gauduin:
Stage de Master 1. Modélisation de la dynamique des virus influenza aviaires au sein des zones humides (Tour du Valat - Université de Perpgnan). Hermann a rejoint le SHOM (Service hydrographique et océanographique de la marine) pour son stage de Master 2 qui portait sur les sédiments marins. Il y est resté ensuite pour travailler en tant que technicien.
Master 1 internship. Modeling of influenza A virus dynamics within wetlands (Tour du Valat – Perpignan University). Hermann has joined the SHOM (Service hydrographique et océanographique de la marine) in Brest for is Master 2 internship focusing on marine sediments. He now works there as a technician.

Stage de Licence Professionnelle: Capture de micromammifères pour l'étude des bactéries antibiorésistantes: une étude préliminaire en Camargue (Tour du Valat - Université de Montpellier). Mélanie est maintenant animatrice nature dans l'Aveyron.
Bachelor internship: Trapping small mammals to study of antimicrobial resistant bacteria: a pre-study in the Camargue (Tour du Valat-Montpellier University). Mélanie was part of our team for four months in 2014. She tested a protocol aiming at trapping rodents to study the bacteria they carried. She is now a nature guide in Aveyron (Southern France).

- 04-08/2013 - Marion Janczyszyn-Le Goff:
Stage de Master 1. Rôle de la faune sauvage dans la dissémination des E. coli résistantes aux antibiotiques en Camargue (Tour du Valat - Université de Grenoble). Après avoir validé son Master suite à un stage sur la génétique des poissons, Marion a effectué deux volontariats dans des réserves naturelles, l'un en Écosse, l'autre en Camargue. Elle est maintenant revenue en Camargue en tant qu'animatrice nature au parc de Pont de Gau.
Master 1 internship: The role of wildlife in the dynamics of antimicrobial resistant Escherichia coli in the Camargue (Southern France) (Tour du Valat-Grenoble University). Marion was part of our team for five months in 2013. She notably sampled feces on gulls and studied the antimicrobial resistant bacteria they carried. She returned from Scotland were she was a European volunteer in a natural reserve and did a civic service as a nature guide in a natural reserve in the Camargue. She is now back in the Camargue to work as a nature guide in Pont de Gau Birdwatching Park

- 03-05/2011 - Sébastien Rambert:
Stage de bac professionel. Circulation du virus West Nile chez les oiseaux en Camargue (Tour du Valat - MFR Mondy). Après son passage dans notre équipe Sébastien a continué en BTS gestion et Protection de la Nature. Son diplôme en poche Sébastien a obtenu un poste à la direction de l'écologie urbaine de la ville de Lyon où il travaille dans la section animaux en tant que technicien.
Professional bachelor internship: Circulation of West Nile virus in wild birds in the Camargue (Tour du Valat - MFR Mondy). Sébastien was part of our team for three months in 2011, during my PhD thesis. He helped us to trap magpies and take blood samples to study West Nile virus transmission in the Camargue. After is professional bachelor he obtained is BTS in Nature Management and protection. He is now working at the direction of urban ecology of Lyon, in the animal section, as a technician.
