Athanasakeion Archaeological Museum of Volos
Beside the numerous and various exhibits, special interest in the Museum of Volos presents the way of exhibition in the halls with the Neolithic artifacts and the halls with the representation of the graves. They allow the visitor to have a more direct contact with the antiquities and comprehend their function easier. Periodical exhibitions take place in two halls of the Museum from time to time. The Rooftile and Brickworks Museum N. & S. Tsalapatas, one of the rare surviving examples of an industrial complex in Greece, joined the expanding Network of Thematic Technological Museums of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP) in 2004. The three floors of the building exposed permanently gallery collector Alexander Damtsa with 500 tables of all the major art movements of our century. These projects are divided into engravings, maps and documents for the region, in works of Greek engravers projects Volioton, Magnisioton Thessalians and artists.

The museum, which is constantly enriched with new items, includes today (2011) 80,000 insects of various classes, but mainly Lepidoptera belonging to more than 35,000 species, subspecies and races and are classified according to the international rules of Systematic Entomology. Among them are rare or unique specimens as the largest butterfly in the world, Thysania agrippina N. America feathers opening 37-40 cm. The exhibition of the museum is housed in a private area on the road Zachos 98 in Volos.

Kitsos Makris Folklore Centre

Kontos house is one of the most significant new monuments in the region of Magnesia, as both the house itself and the painting of the decoration is kept in excellent condition. Is unique Pelion mansion preserving the comprehensive pictorial program of Theophilus. The mansion of Kontos together with Joannou mansion located next to it and the rest of the traditional buildings of the settlement of Anakasia are the most interesting sets of traditional architecture of Pelion. Library of Milies
The Public Library of Milies is situated in the village of Milies on Mount Pelion, 26 km from the city of Volos. It is housed in a building erected in 1928 near the village square and the historical church of Aghii Taxiarches. There are today 3.355 books of old print, as well as 116 manuscripts, 1000 loose documents and objects of particular interest belonging to the Milies School. [more]
The little train of Pelion makes a stop at the Olive and Oil Museum. Passegers may visit the Olive and Oil Museum in the Pelion village Ano Gatzea (the train stops for 15 min) where they will learn how to make olive oil and soap.
