About Vandegrift HOSA

HOSA at Vandegrift offers exclusive opportunities for students. Starting off, our HOSA follows a system of Houses. These houses divide HOSA to better organize the amplitude of students that are participating and engender a sense of convivial competition in HOSA. We have 5 houses: HOUSE NAMES. Collaboration of all the houses occurs at general meetings, game nights, and other HOSA events. In addition, HOSA offers multiple certifications for students to obtain. OSHA, HIPPA, and CERT are a few of the certifications that HOSA is currently looking at to provide for its members. These certifications give students the ability to experience the medical field hands on and create viable connections and relationships between their peers. Competition is a major aspect of HOSA membership. Students get a chance to display their medical knowledge and compete statewide with their compeers. The PLTW Speaker Series is a student favorite as we have medical professionals come in and talk about their occupations. This gives the members a real insight into the full aspects of the medical field. All of these personal to Vandergrift activities are combined with volunteer opportunities and events make the HOSA experience at Vandegrift special and memorable to the students. 

About HOSA

HOSA stands for Health Occupations Students of America, but it is now referred to as Future Health Professionals. It is a national student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education whose two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the healthcare industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition for students who are enrolled in health science education and biomedical science programs or have interests in pursuing careers in health professions.
