Though many of the parts are the same and they visually look very similar, there are differences. I will highlight some of the primary similarities and differences here:

What's the same?

The cluster enclosure, face and bezel are the same sheet metal. The gas and amp gauges mechanically and electronically are the same.

What's different?

Cluster Glass

Glass lettering - Chevrolet has 0-100 MPH on the glass, while the GMC cluster has 0-80 MPH ... and the labels for each gauge (Gas, Amp, Oil and Temp) are different, but in the same position on the cluster.

Gauges - All Chevrolet gauges have brown color faces with white needles, while the GMC gauges have cream color faces with red needles.

Temperature Gauge - The Chevrolet temperature gauge is mechanical, while the GMC temperature gauge is electronic.

Oil Pressure Gauge - The Chevrolet oil pressure gauge has a female threaded connector and is calibrated to display 0-30 PSI, while the GMC oil pressure gauge has a male threaded connector and is calibrated to display 0-80 PSI.
