Victoria Kellar

Hello and welcome to my ePortfolio! My name is Victoria Kellar and I am from Long Island, New York. I am currently a freshman at Florida Southern College, located in Lakeland, and am a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major on a pre-veterinary track. My love for animals began at a young age, specifically for dogs and horses, although I did not decide that I wanted to be a veterinarian until my junior year of high school.

Since I was a young child, I wanted to have a profession that felt meaningful and had an impact on others. I was fortunate enough to have had many opportunities to volunteer in my community which had a lasting impact on me and reinforced my desire to aid others in my profession, a desire that led me to want to become a veterinarian. To me, being a veterinarian goes beyond treating pets, though I look forward to that as well, but means helping people sustain lives, both their own and others, which is why I want to work specifically with livestock and other large animals.
