The International Thespian Society is an honor society for high school and middle school theatre students. It is a division of the Educational Theatre Association. Over 2.9 million students have been inducted to the International Thespian Society since it's founding in 1929. Vicksburg High School's Troupe #8147 has seen over 100 inductees!
Members of our troupe serve the Vicksburg Theater community by
assisting the 4th through 8th grade production
fundraising for the Vicksburg Theater program with our annual ITS A CABARET season announcement party and other fundraisers such as our bottles and cans drive
aiding in the upkeep, cleaning, and organizing of our "dungeon" or theater storage
In return, members of the troupe receive additional theatrical opportunities such as
field trips to see upcoming Broadway productions in Chicago or the Stratford Festival in Canada
master classes and workshops with both Mrs. Melissa Sparks as well as guest artists such as Broadway's Hannah Elless and Regional stars Altamiece Cooper, Carver Duncan and Mitch Voss
attendance at conventions and conferences for the International Thespian Society
