These past two weeks have been quite busy for Piera Alta. We began working on our Final Presentation. We've shown Profs. Carrera and Aghajanian our slides and have incorporated suggestions they've made. Most notable is the ordering of the slides, which would help tell our project's story and purpose better.
The final report is coming along. We have created most of the new subsections for the report. The next step is to put them into the report, trim out extra details, and smooth out the transitions. This is to be completed by Friday, Dec 12.
We have also produced a water level app based on the old canal hydrodynamics app. What it shows are the water level differences between various canal segments in relation to Punta Salute. The differences are shown in green for those lower than P. Salute, and in red for those higher than it. This visualization allows us to see how the water comes into and leaves out of the canal system. It also provides some insight as to how our forecasts should behave over time.
Another product of our efforts was a UI (user interface) mock-up of the web application. It features functionalities such as flood map and routing, area for reporting flooding, current GPS location, tide forecast graph, and current tide levels. Although basic functions have been implemented, there are a few extra features that still need to be included in the app. (https://www.justinmind.com/usernote/tests/13428617/13428625/13428627/index.html)
