A great way for students to share their projects and practice their public speaking skills. Classmates should be engaged in giving feedback to the presenters .
Tips:
• Ask the students to send you their presentations in advance so you can upload them beforehand.
•They will need to have PRESENTER rights so they will be able to use Webcam, Mic and manage the presentation.
• (Please warn your students not to touch the presentation arrows if they are not presenting.)
Please ask involved students to turn their cameras on. You can also optimize the layout to make their video feeds larger for the duration of the role-play / debate. If body language is an important part of the role-play, instruct selected students ahead of the class to create the right physical environment for that interaction. Other students evaluate the performance afterwards.
In online classes, it is often easier than in offline classes to send students into breakout rooms for a short discussion or a more meaningful larger assignment that requires more time to develop. Upon their return, students should present their products, submit a decision or share their findings with the rest of the class. It is particularly useful when multiple rounds of breakout activities are done in 1 live session with feedback / additional information delivered between each round.
Suprise your sutends inviting a guest speaker to your session.
Your guest don´t need to travel so is even more convenient than in F2F sessions.
TIP: Ask your program manger to contanct IT (Servicedesk) and require a guest access. Let them know your name and the videoconfernece link.
Do you need to explain theoretical concepts to your students? Don´t spend valuable time during your "live" sessions to do it! You can record the lecture on Adobe Connect and post the recording as preparation material on the IE Online Campus.
Prepare for your recording:
You can schedule time outside of class to meet with students, in case they need extra help, in order to resolve doubts, clarify misconceptions on the material, or to provide Feedback on their performance. You don´t need to plan a lessson.
Let know your students day and time of the office hours
Tip: add a Bell
Students receive a question on the exam day and with no / little preparation need to answer in front of the professor
Given little / no preparation time, typically focused more on information recall and basic understanding than deeper analysis or knowledge application
Tips:Given the somewhat intimidating set-up for this form of evaluation, it is advisable to carry out oral exams without an “audience” of other students
You should prepare more questions than there are students and have a fair way of randomly assigning the questions to the students
If you choose oral exam as your final assessment, be mindful that you should reserve ample amount of time for the administration of the exam and feedback
