We love to show off the puppies and the puppies love all the attention they can get from people.
However, momma Vizsla has not appreciated visitors in the past. She isn't aggressive or vicious or anything like that, but we've learned that while momma is nursing her hormones change and she becomes vigilant about protecting her pups.
So we have basically made it a standard practice for us not to allow visitors until the pups are about 6 weeks old or so and are old enough to be selected by the families who have made deposits.
This also protects the pups from unnecessary extra exposure to potential outside "germs" and parasites since their immune systems aren't fully developed yet and they haven't received any of their first rounds of shots until they are about 6 weeks old.
Just in case, if you're bringing some kiddos along, we ask that when they are around the pups, that they stay sitting down. We'll have some chairs they can sit on or they can sit down on the floor by the pups. We've just had too many pups get stepped on by kids. We are careful around the pups and the pups are not very "feet smart" yet. They will run in front of and under the feet of you and your kids.
Also, we generally plan on families being here for about 30 minutes to 1 hour. We just wanted to say that seems like enough time and that's what we plan for. If you need to be quicker than that, let us know and we'll get right down to business when you arrive. If you feel you need to take longer than that, just let us know, so we don't make other plans and make you feel rushed.
We hope you understand. Let us know if you have any other questions.
