Vocal Music Scholarship
CHARLES & JEAN CLARK VOCAL MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP
Each year, the vocal music department awards a $1,000 scholarship to a senior who has been involved in the the choral program at Valley and is pursuing an education in Music Education, Performance or Music Technology. The scholarship is named in honor of Charles Clark who was the Vocal Music Director at Valley from 1972 until 1989, when he passed away at age at the age of 47. Mr. Clark started many traditions that continue to this day, including singing “An Irish Blessing” at Valley graduations. He and his wife, Jean, enriched the lives of many Valley students over the years.
The scholarship recipient receives a Memory Book with stories about Mr. Clark by former students, family, friends and co-workers. Click here to read it.
