(Pronounced "Legorn". ) The most prolific egg  layer of all the breeds. A beautiful commercial white leghorn, laying 300 -320 white eggs per year.  A petite little ballerina. who likes to perch  high.,  I have to say given their small build, the size and sheer amount of eggs you get from a white leghorn is amazing and given the small amount of feed they consume I am surprised they are not used more commercially here in the UK, can only put it down to the public's preference for brown eggs.
