Hiking Club

We are excited to start a hiking club within the pack this year! Bear with us as this is the first year for this club and we may change the format and mileages as the year goes on.

Our Hiking Club Leader will pick a new place to hike every month. Hikes will typically be between 1 and 5 miles. There may be longer hikes if the Club Leader and parents think the scouts are ready for a bigger challenge!

Scouts can earn hiking staff medallions for their rank if they complete enough miles hiked with the pack every year. The total miles are cumulative through out the scouting year (Sept - May)

• Lions/Tigers - 5 miles total

• Wolves/Bears - 7 miles total

• Webelos/AOLs- 10 miles total

For every additional cumulative 5 miles, decorative beads for the hiking staff will be awarded.

Wooden Hiking staffs are available for purchase for $10 from the Pack to display the medallions and hiking beads the scouts earn

optional Hiking club shirts will also be available for purchase through the Hiking Club Leader.
