Saturday PM

4pm Picnic Potluck, followed by the No-Talent Show

The traditional picnic potluck will start around 4pm in the Picnic Area between Big Meadows Lodge and the Big Meadows Campground, although the grills will be heating up as early as 3pm. The picnic is BYOMOGA (Bring Your Own Meat Or Grillable Alternative) and a side or two to share (please sign up on the registration form so we can plan!). Drinks and paper goods will be provided. In addition to food, you may want to bring chairs and blankets for seating, as well as outdoor playthings like footballs, Frisbees, soccer balls, etc.

The picnic also includes the No-Talent-Required Talent Show. This is the perfect time to Tell a Joke, Do a Skit, play a medley of Elvis tunes on the Recorder, whatever you like. The sillier the better!

Optional activities after the potluck

Afterward, we usually walk through the Big Meadow at dusk to see the deer. (One year we even saw a bear!) On a clear night, the star gazing is excellent. Also, if available, some of us may go to hear the folk singer at the Lodge (usually a very kid-friendly folk singer). There may also be a family game night at a location to be determined.
