1-15-16 Participants can email usiasme@gmail.com about general questions pertaining to the competition. This email will be checked daily and emails will be replied to as soon as possible.

2-23-16 PDF's of the vertical features are now posted.

2-23-16 Printouts of the course (excluding vertical features) will be available at the robotics workshop and there after IF the team is registered and we are notified beforehand. Note: There is a limit of one per team and we prefer to be notified a week in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is there a certain program to open the file?

A: You can open them with SolidWorks’ eDrawings Viewer: http://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/edrawings/e2_register.htm which is available for free.

Q: How many team members is ideal and can we borrow a kit? If not how do I get one?

A: The maximum number of students in a team is 4. Yes, you can borrow a kit (it will be an NXT 2.0 Lego Mindstorm kit).

Q: Are schools limited to a certain number of teams?

A: You can enter as many teams as you wish

Q: Are EV3 expansion sets allowed this year? In the 2016 packet there is no discussion of core sets only like in past years.

A: Any expansions are allowed this year but make sure you pay attention to robot rules.

Q: Will there be maps to purchase for the layout? It was discussed last competition as a possibility for this year.

A: Due to generous donations by the USI Foundation, course print outs will be available for pick up at or after the robotics workshop. Note: These print outs will not have the vertical features and you must notify us ahead of time.

Q: Will there be dates and times available to practice on a course like in years past?

A:Due to prints of the course being available, there will be no practice times this year except for the robotics workshop.

Q: Are teams required to be in middle school?

A: This completion is designed for middle school students. However, any teams can sign up that are in grades lower than middle school.

Q: Will shirts be provided this year?

A: Due to generous donations by the USI Foundation, we are planning on providing shirts this year.
